Bride Died Hours after Wedding Vows: Grieving Groom Reveals She 'Wanted the Night to Never End'

Aric Hutchinson, a South Carolina groom, faced the unthinkable on what was supposed to be the happiest day of his life. On April 28, 2023, his joy-filled wedding day to Samantha Miller took a devastating turn.

Only hours after exchanging vows, their celebration was abruptly interrupted when an alleged drunk driver slammed into their golf cart, tragically claiming Miller's life and leaving Hutchinson in a state of profound loss and heartbreak.

Facing this massive loss, Hutchinson is grappling with the harsh reality of his life without Miller, a surreal and painful shift from a day that was supposed to be a joyful beginning. The horrifying incident, which took place near Charleston, South Carolina, claimed Miller's life and left Hutchinson critically injured.

Remembering his late wife, Hutchinson's voice was heavy with sorrow, "Sam's just got that glow. She's the type that walks in a room, and you notice," he shared during his first interview since the incident.

Two others involved in the accident were also severely injured, with numerous cuts and open wounds, as reported by Charleston ABC affiliate WCIV. Besides the emotional scars, Hutchinson has been dealing with severe physical injuries, including broken legs, facial fractures, spinal injuries, and brain bleeds.

The person allegedly responsible for the tragedy was identified as 25-year-old Jamie Komoroski. She was charged with three counts of DUI causing severe bodily injury/death and one count of reckless homicide.

Following the incident, a statement from Komoroski's attorney requested patience as the legal process continues. Regardless, Hutchinson is taking action, filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Komoroski and some local establishments that allegedly served her alcohol on that fateful night.

Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Hutchinson confessed he was not ready to face Komoroski. "I can't right now," he admitted. "I'd like to. I mean, she stole an amazing human being that should not have been taken."

As Hutchinson navigates through this unimaginable tragedy, he finds comfort in memories of Miller, seeing her presence in every corner of the home they once shared, adding:

"I know she's up there watching, just laughing at me trying to get up and down these stairs because it was her decision to go to the third floor."

He ended the interview by sharing Miller's last words on their wedding day, "The last thing I remember her saying was she wanted the night to never end." A bitter reminder of a day that began with joy and love ended in unimaginable sorrow and loss.

In an emotionally charged tribute, Miller's maid of honor and lifelong friend, Ashley Favret, painfully remembered the fateful day. "It was everything she had dreamed for that day to be," Favret said, her voice echoing the deep sadness that resonates from a story that should have been about love and happiness.

Favret's grief is twofold - she mourns the loss of her best friend of 15 years, who was like a soulmate to her, and she's equally heartbroken for Hutchinson, who tragically lost his bride. The pain was palpable in her words as she held back tears and said:

"I miss her. I don't know what I'm going to do without her."

The tragic loss has left her with profound anger toward the allered circumstances that cost Miller her life. "It makes me angry. A stupid decision because of alcohol cost her life," Favret stated.
