Andrew Dice Clay's Third Wife Was Valerie Vasquez – Divorce Once Saved Their Relationship
Four years after tying the knot, Andrew Dice Clay and his former wife found an unusual way to get the spark back into their relationship: they got a divorce. However, although they were "more in love than ever," the exes went their separate ways for good.
From live comedy shows to appearing in award-winning films such as "A Star is Born," Andrew Dice Clay—born Andrew Clay Silverstein—has made a name for himself as an entertainer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the comedian is also an actor known for "Blue Jasmine" and "Adventures of Ford Fairland."
Off camera, Andrew Dice Clay proved to be quite the ladies' man as he has made it down the aisle three times and was in a relationship with someone who was "like a fiancée." Although all his marriages ended in divorce, his third divorce was good because he revealed it took the "pressure" off of him and his third wife, Valerie Vasquez.

Andrew Dice Clay Divorced His Third Wife in 2014
Clay and Vasquez said "I do" on Valentine's Day in 2010 while in Las Vegas. At the time, the comedian revealed that he had never experienced love as he had with his third wife and believed that they were meant to be together. He said:
"She is a gift from heaven. God knew we were meant for each other and planned exactly how and when we'd meet."
However, four years later, the actor filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Superior Court. According to documents, Clay and Vasquez had been separated since March 18, 2014. They did not welcome any children together, and in the paperwork that Clay filed, he revealed that he and Vasquez did not have separate assets worth over $40,000.

Andrew's Wife Was Best Friends with Woman He Dated Before
Getting married and getting a divorce but still staying together was not the only out-of-the-ordinary aspect of Clay and Vasquez's relationship, as during an interview, he revealed that his third wife was "best friends" with one of his exes.
After welcoming two children during his second marriage, Clay dated Eleanor Kerrigan, an opening act for one of his shows. And during their relationship, Kerrigan helped Clay raise his children.

After revealing that he and Kerrigan, who was "like a fiancée," were constantly bickering about silly things, Clay humorously admitted that he would tread more lightly with Vasquez due to her Latin ethnicity. After meeting his third wife, Clay told her Kerrigan was one woman he could not cut ties with. While speaking about his relationship with Kerrigan, Clay jokingly said:
"It's almost like she is an ex-wife, but one I get along with."
And Vasquez proved that Clay was not the only one who got along with Kerrigan. In 2014, Vasquez took to Instagram to share a picture of her "bestie" Kerrigan, herself, and her family, whom she brought to Las Vegas to watch Kerrigan perform.
Andrew Dice Clay Said Divorce Saved His Marriage
While divorce might be a negative thing for some exes, it was a good thing for Clay and Vaszquez, as, following their 2014 divorce, they had no intentions of parting ways. Instead, they wanted to remain in a romantic relationship without the "pressure" that came with the title of being Mr. and Mrs. Clay said:
"The word 'marriage' was putting a pressure on our relationship, and since we filed, we've been more in love and have had more respect for each other than ever before."
During his appearance on "Conan," Clay revealed that it was his idea for him and Vasquez to get divorced and eliminate the looming threat divorce had over their marriage. And things only got better from there.

The divorce was not only amicable, but the former couple celebrated the occasion at a fancy Hollywood restaurant. The actor also shared that he continued introducing Vasquez as his wife, and they even took on a cooking competition show together.
In 2017, Vasquez and Kerrigan proved they were still on good terms as they smiled for the camera in Clay's photo on Facebook. "With two of my favorite girls in the world (sic)," he captioned the post in part.
However, that was one of the last photos of the trio, as Clay and Vasquez officially went their separate ways. In 2020, Clay turned to Facebook again and proved his and Kerrigan's friendship was still going strong after sharing a snap of them.
In April 2020, Clay shared a photo of him and his new girlfriend Kerry, who he affectionally called his "Sugarplum" and met through Kerrigan. Vasquez also found love again and took to Instagram to share a picture of her and her mystery man in 2019.
Vasquez and her new partner enjoyed a couple's vacation that year before welcoming a child in 2022. And earlier this month, Vasquez gave fans a sneak peek at her daughter's first birthday and revealed that she had gotten married after referring to her partner as her husband.

He Was Previously Married to Kathleen Monica
The first time Clay said "I do," he and his first wife, Kathleen Swanson, were only married for two years, from 1984 to 1986. Following their divorce, he met his second wife, Kathleen Monica, while she was working as a waitress in Chicago.
Monica pursued a career as an actress and shared the silver screen with her ex-husband in the 1990 film "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane." That same year, they welcomed their eldest son Max Silverstein and their second son, Dillon Scott, born in 1994.
After tying the knot on September 4, 1992, Monica and Clay—who has starred alongside big names such as Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, and Bradley Cooper—were married for ten years before they parted ways in 2002.
