Kate Hudson Hid Pregnancy with Younger Boyfriend — He Just Turned 37 & Is a Hands-on Dad to Their Daughter
- Kate Hudson celebrated her partner's birthday this month.
- The couple were friends for a long time before becoming romantic and trying to keep their pregnancy a secret.
- The actress' now-fiancé is a great father to their daughter and her other children.
On June 10, 2023, Kate Hudson, 44, took to her Instagram account to celebrate her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa's birthday. The star's younger partner and the father of her child turned 37.
The actress's post included several pictures of Fujikawa and Hudson in different settings, as well as a video. Some images showed the musician posing with the celebrity's older children, with the first photo on the slide showing the musician kissing the daughter they share on the cheek.
The couple has known each other since the actress was pregnant with her eldest son, but it took fifteen years of friendship before they unexpectedly fell in love and gave their relationship a chance.
In Hudson's birthday tribute, she described her partner as "the most loving, pure, honest, sensitive, brilliant, caring man," adding:
"Happiest Birthday to my love, my partner, my man!"
The star revealed how grateful she was that they stayed together, had a child, and chose to marry when they had time to plan it. She noted how people wondered how love lasts and hilariously shared that she did too!
However, she believed many factors went into it and that the footage of her laughing as Fujikawa played music was one of them. The celebrity urged her fans to find someone they could be weird with and joked that she wasn't saying it because it was the direction of her album.
Hudson also explained what was happening in the video attached to her post, saying, "this is just what happens in our house when there’s day drinking involved." She concluded her post by sharing her love for Danny and wishing him a happy birthday.
How Kate First Met Danny and How Their Friendship Grew?
On December 4, 2017, Hudson penned a post revealing how the musician became her lover. She uploaded an Instagram photo of her kissing him on a bridge and wrote a long caption revealing how she was 23 and "enormously pregnant with Ryder" when she first met Fujikawa.
Ryder Robinson is Hudson's eldest child shared with her first husband, Chris Robinson. The actress said Fujikawa's stepsisters, Erin and Sara Foster, were her best friends at the time, and they'd been in the same circle for more than ten years.
A year ago from the time she made the post, the singer took her on a hike which she had assumed was just friendly. However, their outing quickly and unexpectedly turned into their first date.
Hudson clarified that nothing romantic happened on that first date, and it took months after for Fujikawa to make the first move. The couple only kissed for the first time a year later, 15 years after they met . Hudson admitted they had opened their hearts to one another and felt "pure love" by then.
Hudson also confessed their journey had been incredible before wishing her partner a happy first date anniversary. In hashtags, she admitted to loving her man and being in awe of the year they shared.
Ultimately, their relationship led them to create someone who shared their DNA; however, the "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" star pushed to keep the initial stages a secret.
Why Kate Took a Sabbatical from Social Media?
On April 6, 2018, Hudson shared a short clip of a gender reveal that included her, Fujikawa, and her older sons. The group held black mystery balloons and counted down before poking the decorations with pins to reveal smaller pink balloons and matching confetti.
The reveal meant the couple was having a baby girl, the first one for Hudson, who already had two boys by then. The actress started her post by explaining to fans why she'd been absent from her social media platforms, saying she had been feeling sick the sickest she's been in her first trimester compared to her first two pregnancies.
She revealed how boomerang videos made her nauseous while Superzoom sent her throwing up in the toilet. Food Instagrams made her queazy, and when she overthought Instagram Stories, she felt more exhausted than initially.

Hudson also hilariously revealed that she had been lying when seen out and about pretending things were great! However, she finally felt better and was rediscovering the joys of Instagram and other platforms.
Hudson also disclosed, "We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar." But since she was already showing, she decided to share it to the world.
Hudson dmitted that keeping it under wraps was challenging and more exhausting than coming out with the truth.
The actress concluded her post by noting how she, Fujikawa, her children, and their families were super excited about having a baby girl on the way, her third child, and first for Fujikawa.
Danny's Role as a Father and Stepfather and the Possibility of More Children
In December 2022, Hudson revealed during an interview how she would ask herself various questions to check in. Among many things, she would ask herself how she was doing, where she was, if she felt good and healthy, and how her children were.
That was the same approach she took with her family. She noted how she'd been having children throughout her adult life. She had a four-year-old then, with another child in college, but she wasn't sure if she was done having more. At the time, she said she didn't have an answer to that yet.
[Kate] Hudson confessed that they had arguments...
One thing's for sure though, Hudson is appreciative of Fujikawa's role as a father to her daughter. For 2021's Father's Day, she shared Instagram images of Fujikawa in bed with their daughter, Rani Rose, and a clip of him watching her while eating breakfast in bed.
The actress praised her partner for being "the most brilliant father." Rani also shared a story about her father's brilliance in the clip.
The following year, Hudson uploaded a boomerang Instagram video of Rani kissing her daddy on the cheek. Hudson lauded Fujikawa for being "one amazing Daddy" before declaring their love.
For the musician's birthday in 2022, Hudson shared a picture of him shirtless while posing in bed with their daughter. The celebrity wished him a happy birthday, expressed her love, and hoped the year brought him many blessings.
During a 2019 interview, Rani's mother revealed how her boyfriend didn't mind staying home if she had a dinner meeting to attend. The Fabletics co-founder also shared how their priority was their family.
Hudson confessed that they had arguments, but what allowed them to see through them were their shared goals, which included being in one another's lives. The actress admitted that it felt nice to be that way.
