Carrie Underwood Gets Matching Tattoos with Her 74-Year-Old Mother and Sisters on Her Mom's Request
When Carrie Underwood's mother asked her to get matching tattoos, she didn't think twice about saying yes. The duo, along with Carrie's other siblings, now have permanent remembrances of their endearing relationship.
Carrie Underwood has been nothing short of a wonderful mother, partly because she had an excellent example growing up – her mother, Carole Underwood.
The "Jesus Take the Wheel" songstress never passes on the opportunity to show appreciation for her mom. So when Carole asked her and her sisters to get matching heart tattoos in Vegas, there were no hesitations.
Carrie shared the memorable moment on Instagram: "The only questions are, 'What?' and 'Where?' I never would've thought I'd see the day that Mama Carole would be gettin' some ink!"
Mother Underwood and Carrie's siblings had their tattoos placed on their wrists, while the singer opted to put it on her foot. Carrie thanked artist Darek Riley for doing a fantastic job and being sweet to her family.
The tattoo artist also documented the memorable moment on Instagram, claiming Las Vegas becomes a better location because of his experiences with people like Carrie's sisters and mom.
Carole has undoubtedly been a guiding force and support system in Carrie's life, as seen through the artist's posts and actions. Previously, she dedicated a Mother's Day post to Carole alongside several sweet photos depicting her mother's love and support.
In March 2022, the Grammy Award-winning artist's mother joined her on stage during a concert, where they shared a sweet moment singing "All-American Girl" together. Carrie posted the incredible moment on Instagram and revealed that her mom once told her, "If you wanna go, I'll take you." Carrie said:
"I was busy talking myself out of trying out for 'American Idol,' and my mom said these words…the rest is history. Tonight, I got to sing with her on stage in front of the most incredible crowd."
Similarly, Carole does not shy away from participating in interviews to talk about her daughter. Previously, she opened up about raising Carrie. According to the star's mom, Carrie's sisters influenced the artist's liking for country music.
When Carrie started performing locally, Carole would make her costumes and be at the forefront of the show. However, no one thought she would be the international singer she is today.
Carrie is now a mother to two wonderful children, whom she shares with her husband of over 14 years, Mike Fisher. Becoming a mother was no easy feat for the singer, but now that she is blessed with two boys, she treasures every opportunity to bond with them.
