Following their parents' relationship, Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer were further connected when Bob Marley's mother and Bunny Wailer's father welcomed a child—Pearl Livingston—who is one of the late singers' many siblings.

Pearl Livingston has endured many hardships during her life, including losing her mother and her older step-brothers and battling addiction. However, in more recent years, she has steered clear of the limelight.

Pearl was born to Teddy Livingston and Cedella Marley in 1962. Her father ran a bar and hired her mother, who later fell pregnant. More tension arose in Pearl's family following her birth, as her famous half-brother felt he was competing for their mother's divided attention.

Bob also felt he had experienced racism as a half-white man after the older brother of a local girl he had fallen in love with forbade her from seeing the "No Woman, No Cry" singer due to his white blood.

Over the years, Pearl developed a cocaine addiction.

Shortly after Pearl was born, her family was broken up - Cedella realized she had no future with Pearl's father and relocated to Miami, leaving Pearl and Bob behind until she could send for them.

During their mother's absence, Pearl and her family grew up in their home of Nine Mile, Jamaica, before relocating to the island's capital. However, at some point over the years, Pearl joined her mother in the United States.

Multiple members of her extended family have carried on Bob Marley's musical legacy, including his widow Rita Marley, a member of the I-Threes and a backing vocalist to the Wailers. Bob's son Ziggy Marley formed his own group, the Melody Makers, which features three more of the reggae icon's children.

Pearl and Bob's mother later passed away in April 2008 and is survived by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren—including John Nesta Marley—and her daughter.

Damian Marley, born from his father's relationship with Miss World 1976 Cindy Breakspeare, is another Marley offspring who has made a name for himself as a talented musician. "I didn't know he was going to be a reggae king, but I knew he was a king from birth," Pearl's mother said about her late son's musical influence.
