However, the actor revealed that his daughters, Esmeralda and Amada, were quite perplexed about why he wanted to portray Ken since they were not particularly fond of playing with Ken dolls.

Ryan tried to convince them otherwise but humorously admitted that his daughters were a little "Ken-fused" about his choice. Although Ryan appreciated his daughters' contribution to his performance, he said they weren't ready to watch the entire movie yet.

During an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Ryan shared the intriguing story of how he came to accept the role of Ken in the film "Barbie." The actor disclosed that he received a phone call from Greta Gerwig, the movie's writer, offering him the part. Contemplating the decision, Ryan went into his backyard to reflect on it.

Ryan Gosling then discovered a peculiar sight—a Ken doll lying face down in the mud, accompanied by a squished lemon. This unexpected occurrence served as a sign to him, instantly convincing him that he was meant to take on the role.

While Ryan is a proud dad of two, the actor once revealed that he didn't contemplate having kids until his wife Eva Mendes got pregnant. He also noted that meeting her made him realize he didn't want to be a parent without her.

Ryan expressed that fatherhood entered his life unexpectedly and naturally. He acknowledged that becoming a father had a profound impact, and he thanked God for it.

Ryan also acknowledged that having children introduced a delightful sense of joyful disorder or "sweet chaos" into his life. While Ryan has a demanding job, the actor prioritizes fatherhood over his career.
