NBA star LeBron James' eldest son, Bronny James, 18, suffered from cardiac arrest during a workout routine. A family representative reports that Bronny received immediate medical assistance and got transported to a hospital following the incident on Monday around 9:26 a.m.

The rising basketball star, who recently committed to play professionally for the Trojans, was at the University of Southern California when the medical issue happened. After logging a 911 call at the USC Galen Center, the emergency was labeled a Code 3, and Bronny was taken by ambulance with sirens and flashing lights, signifying the seriousness of his condition, while in transit to the medical facility.

The 18-year-old's father has expressed his desire to play alongside his son on the basketball court before he plans on retiring. When asked in a past interview what he views as the most significant accomplishment in his entire career, the 38-year-old said being on the same court as Bronny would be his number one.

Since participating in his high school showcase's slam dunk competition, Bronny has been following in his father's likeness. The young athlete, who is soon up for recruitment as a 4-star player, achieved a 14-point average, three assists, and five rebounds during his year as a senior at Sierra Canyon.

LeBron James Refuses to Retire until He Gets the Opportunity to Play With His Son on the Same Team

During an interview last year, LeBron spoke about his intention to team up with Bronny at any cost. While discussing his career and plans for retirement, the NBA title-winning all-star clearly stated:

"My last year will be played with my son. Wherever Bronny is at, that's where I'll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year."

The professional athlete, amid his 19th NBA season, clarified that his desire to play with his son had nothing to do with the amount of money he would receive for this venture. When asked about the likelihood of him making a return to play for the Cavaliers, LeBron divulged that though he may not be entirely sure about returning, the door has yet to be closed.

While his dad may be somewhat undecided on his career's future, Bronny previously revealed his interest in playing for five schools. Out of the five, he expressed interest in Kentucky, which offered him a scholarship.

Bronny and his father have been sharing their love of basketball for some time now.

After spending seven seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, leaving them to join other teams, and then making a return that helped the team win their first NBA championship, LeBron made his final exit to join the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018. Of his back-and-forth switch between the different teams and the reason for him having done so, LeBron said:

Earlier this year, the James family celebrated Bronny's senior night, and his loving parents went all out for the festive celebrations. Bronny's mom, LeBron's wife, Savannah James, and his siblings, Zhuri and Bryce James, were present on the court and cheering from the bleachers.

Following a successful game, which saw Bronny scoring a couple of points, the family took endearing photographs, posing all together in the center of the high school's court. Pictures showed Bronny engaged in the game and suited up in his crisp white uniform with the name of his school printed on the front.
