Sandra Janowski Died Shortly after Divorce – Facts about Ted Nugent's Ex-wife

Sandra Janowski was the ex-wife of the American guitarist Ted Nugent. Even though he was reportedly married once, her marriage to him was his first official marriage before they split almost a decade after having two children. Unfortunately, years later, she tragically lost her life.

Singer-songwriter Ted Nugent was Sandra Janowski's husband. Following their split, he candidly talked about their divorce and expressed sadness that things had ended that way. The former couple welcomed a son and a daughter within their union.

However, Sandra Janowski did not live long enough to see her children grow up, as she lost her life in the '80s. Meanwhile, Ted Nugent has since moved on with his life and wed for the second time.

Sandra Janowski's Marriage with Ted Nugent

Before Ted, who has collaborated with Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck, Alice Cooper, and more, crossed paths with Sandra, he had a relationship with 17-year-old Pele Massa, a Hawaii native. Although the age of consent was 16, he was not allowed to marry Pele because he was way older than her.

However, he and her parents signed documents making him her legal guardian as a loophole to them getting married. He later met Sandra in 1969 at a Miami concert. However, she wanted nothing to do with him, and he was not used to not getting attention, especially from groupies.

Nonetheless, they married in 1970, and he admitted that that period was significant. Sandra and her then-husband welcomed daughter Sasha Nugent and son Theodore Tobias "Toby" Nugent and shared three homes in Florida and northern Michigan, including a farmhouse.

After eight years, the couple separated and divorced one year later. Their eldest child Sasha was only five years old, while their youngest son Theodore was two. The guitarist revealed the news in a March 1979 interview wherein he disclosed he could not go into further details surrounding the split. Ted said:

"I am getting a divorce. It's sad, man, it's a very sad thing, but I can't talk about it yet."

In August 1979, he and Sandra settled their divorce out of court after battling for their kids. Their attorneys later disclosed they had to come to some level of understanding about their split.

Sandra Janowski Died in a Car Accident

Sadly, three years after their divorce, Sandra tragically died in a car accident on November 11, 1982, at 33. Her vehicle hit a tree at an intersection in Jackson County, Michigan. According to the police, she was driving south of a city street and was found to have been driving under the influence.

Consequently, she died after being transported to Foote Hospital West in Jackson. Sandra, born on December 29, 1948, in Bay County, Michigan, was laid to rest at McNair Cemetery in Pulaski, Jackson County, Michigan.

Sandra Janowski's Children Are Now Adults

Sasha and Theodore are all grown up now and have their own families. On Sasha's Instagram account, which is private, she describes herself as "Wife. Mom." The proud family woman's bio reveals she enjoys traveling and is based between Greenwich and Nashville.

Additionally, her profile image shows she has three kids. Sasha is now 49 years old. Her famous father paid a birthday tribute to her in February 2019 alongside a gallery of photos from her childhood on his social media uploads.

"My beautiful precious wonderful daughter Sasha is 45 today!! Lord have mercy! My little Sasha! I love you!" the music superstar penned on his Facebook account. Ted also paid homage to his son Theodore in November 2014.

He captioned the post, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY Theodore Tobias Nugent, my 38-year-old son that is every father's dream son!" The proud parent praised his child and expressed love for him. The lead vocalist added Theodore is "always there for him" and everyone else, adding he is an "incredible brother and father."
