Joey King's parents, Terry and Jamie King, share three children who have carved their path in the entertainment industry. They welcomed their youngest child, Joey, in July 1999. Despite having famous children, Joey King's father prefers keeping a low profile, and there's very little information about him online.

On the other hand, the actress's mother has an active presence on social media. As of this writing, her Instagram page boasts over 33 thousand followers. She shares everything from lifestyle to glimpses into her family life on her page.

Joey King's Parents Are Not Actors

In 2020, the actress and her parents were spotted going shopping in Beverly Hills. Amid the pandemic, the actress quarantined with her parents. The outing came a few days after Joey and her sister Hunter King attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party, where the actress ran into Billie Eilish.

Joey King's parents raised her in Simi Valley, a two-hour drive from Los Angeles. While neither followed a career in the entertainment industry, all their children have established acting careers.

Joey King and Her Mother Are Close

Joey's mother has a great relationship with her daughters and tags them in unfiltered, candid photos from her Instagram. In 2022, Joey specially celebrated her mother's birthday. "The Kissing Booth" actress, who co-starred with Jacob Elordi and Taylor Zakhar Perez, shared photos with her family alongside a heartwarming tribute dedicated to her mother.

She repeatedly expressed affection for her mother on social media, underscoring their strong bond. For her mother's birthday in 2019, she wrote:

"Happy birthday to the person who made me into who I am today. Mama, you mean the world to me and I'm so thankful for your strength in my life. You taught me to kick ass and be myself. Thank you for being who you are I love you."

The Hollywood star has also expressed gratitude for her mother's valuable life lessons, emphasizing her mom's lesson about being true to herself. Joey has shared a heartwarming story about her mother's unwavering support for her career.

The actress recalled the moment she discovered she had secured the role of Selena Gomez's sister in "Ramona and Beezus" when she was just ten. Joey mentioned that her mother was so thrilled and overjoyed that she cried for joy upon hearing the news. Even though the actress has been seen with her parents, her dad stays out of the spotlight.

Not only is she close to her parents, but she also has fond memories of her grandparents. Joey's late grandfather, Joseph Farrar, was a soldier. In 2018, she shared a poignant photo of her grandfather dressed in his service uniform and honored his memory with a heartfelt tribute to celebrate Veterans Day.

She has also celebrated her grandmother on her Instagram account, showcasing their close and cherished relationship. Their strong bond has endured since Joey's childhood, and the actress considers herself fortunate to have her grandmother, whom she said is "mind blowingly stunning at every age."

Joey is not the only King to make waves in the family. Her older sisters, Hunter and Kelli, are accomplished actresses. Although Kelli has not been involved in many projects, she has made a few guest appearances and played minor roles on TV shows such as "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Winner."

Hunter, who also started acting early, has appeared in several projects, including "Without a Trace," "ER," and more. In 2012, she starred in "The Young and the Restless" and earned a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series for her role.
