Australian actress Josephine Langford had appeared in several onscreen productions, but none catapulted her to stardom quite like her role in the "After" films. Playing Tessa Young, she becomes involved in a steamy, complicated romance with troubled lover Hardin Scott.

In the film, Hero Fiennes Tiffin plays Hardin Scott. The pair brought to screens a literary couple with a strong fanbase from the books, which grew exponentially following the movie adaptations' release.

Josephine Langford's Opinion on Relationships: 'It Should Be Easy'

While Langford keeps a tight lid over her relationship status and personal life, she once shared her views on what a relationship should be like. "My view on relationships right now — and it changes — is that it should be easy," she said in a 2020 interview.

Reflecting on Tessa and Hardin's romance, Langford acknowledged that theirs was a challenging relationship, adding that it's "not the ideal relationship" and it's essential to know that "it's not the norm."

Josephine Langford Removed Herself from Social Media

Langford described her brain as having several traits that clashed with the social media scene. "I'm an overthinker, I'm overly private, and those two personality traits just do not work when it comes to Instagram," she said.

When she had an account on the platform, she rarely posted. However, it now appears she no longer has an official page on leading social media apps, including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.

At one point, she was rumored to be engaged when a friend jokingly told a fan they were planning to marry. The speculation eventually fizzled, but it wasn't the only time she was embroiled in dating rumors.

While their relationship didn't go beyond work or platonic bounds, fans of the "After" books and films still hoped they would end up together after witnessing their onscreen chemistry. Tiffin, for his part, didn't blame them.

"[...] I get it. I get why you'd see people in a film and, kind of, want them to be together. When people are young, they care so much. It's good that they care. … I understand it, is probably the best way to put it," he remarked. Like Langford, the actor is not keen on sharing his personal life's details.

But aside from their love lives, the co-stars are slated to appear in "After Everything" in late 2023. Additionally, Langford will star in "The Other Zoey" with Heather Graham, Andie MacDowell, and Patrick Fabian, and Tiffin in "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" with Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson.
