While Helms' wife's identity remains a mystery, during an interview in 2012, the actor revealed he had a "serious" girlfriend. Three years later, he was spotted with a mystery blonde on a double date with Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye.

By 2017, the actor had confirmed that he was a married man as he humorously revealed that one of his favorite things to do was prank his wife. Helms said:

"I do pranks now. I like to prank my wife. I hide behind walls and doors in our house and jump out and startle her. For some reason, that makes me laugh so hard."

Helms shared more details about his mystery wife during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2019 and revealed that his wife's family is "very outdoorsy." The actor, who is not sure he is made for the outdoors, further joked, "I'm on the outside of that outdoorsy thing [...]."

During his appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Helms also opened up about a rumor that he was having an affair with Demi Moore after the pair worked together on a project.

The "The Hangover" star revealed that he was enjoying some downtime when his publicist called him to address the allegations that he was having a romantic relationship with Moore, to which Helms recalled saying, "I was like, 'No, I'm happily married. I'm on vacation with my family. What are you talking about?!"

In 2021, Helms confirmed that he and his wife had welcomed a daughter, who had turned three. "She's incredible and quite a handful during the pandemic," he said to a laughing crowd while appearing on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

The actor also humorously recalled a "miscalculated" road trip when he and his wife gave their daughter hours of screen time and the "brutal battle" of trying to pry their little girl away from the screen.

Helms also featured on Conan O'Brien's YouTube show during the pandemic and shared that he and his daughter were keeping busy by singing and playing games during the difficult time. He also revealed he repurposed a cardboard into a train for his daughter.
