Alan Jackson's siblings chose professions away from the spotlight, although some were musically gifted. Most of his sisters live private lives and have their own families, with little information about them shared on social media.

Alan Jackson and his siblings were born to Ruth Musick Jackson and Eugene Jackson. Their mom was only 16 when she eloped with their dad and began a life together, living in a tool shed on Franklin Highway.

Soon, their family grew. They welcomed daughters Cathy Wright, Carol J. Glover, Connie Davis, and Diane Dawson, and their youngest child and only son, Alan Jackson. The Jackson siblings' mom worked in a cafeteria near International Playtex. She later became a cafeteria manager and dietitian at Elm Street Elementary School.

Their mother was well-loved by the children in the school. One of the long-time teachers at the elementary, Rutledge Duncan, recalled how sweet and passionate Ruth was about her job. Duncan said:

"All the children loved her, and they sensed the love she had for them. She cooked like our mommas used to cook. They felt her love through the food."

On the other hand, the Jackson siblings' father worked as a mechanic at Ford Motor Co.'s assembly plant for over two decades, from the '60s through to the late '80s.

When the parents retired, they traveled the country with her friends and a camping club. Sadly, Eugene passed away first on January 31, 2000, at 72. After his death, Ruth and her daughters, Diane, Cathy, and Carol, alongside other musicians, formed the band the Straynotes.

One of the sisters shares the same degenerative nerve condition as the singer, which affects daily life in more ways than one.

Ruth had been musically inclined for many years after being influenced by her stepmother, a professional pianist. As it turned out, the musical interest in their family passed on to Ruth's son. Sadly, Ruth died on January 7, 2017. She was 86.

Alan Jackson's Siblings Grew up near Relatives

Growing up, Alan and his four sisters lived near relatives as their grandparents divided their land among the kids. Their family lived in a home by an old tool shed. Alan recalled:

"The family and all my cousins lived around us. My grandmother lived next door. I feel like sometimes I grew up in a time warp where I was 30 years behind other people."

Alan's siblings still connect with their other relatives, although they live private lives. One of the sisters shares the same degenerative nerve condition as the singer, which affects daily life in more ways than one.

Alan Jackson's Siblings Have a Family Tradition

The Jackson siblings have been keeping a family holiday tradition since 1974, trekking from house to house to celebrate Christmas with good food, company, and music. The practice has progressed as years passed, especially after the Jackson siblings lost their parents. Cathy shared of their practice:

"Carol and I stole the idea from a Sunday School class we were attending at First Baptist at that time, and we thought it might work for our families. We proposed the idea to the rest of the family, and they went along with it."

Back then, they knew many people living in Newnan who they could visit. Going from home to home allowed them to see the Christmas decorations of different families.

Unfortunately, Alan hasn't been present much in the past decades. Although he started a family, became a father and build a life near Nashville, his sisters continue to keep the family tradition.

Alan Jackson's Sister, Cathy Wright, Joined the Academe

Cathy attended Newnan High School and later the University of West Georgia, where she took Special Education and Early Childhood Education. She later became a kindergarten, first-grade, second-grade, and fourth-grade teacher at Coweta County School System.

In 1990, Cathy joined the Shenandoah Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center, Inc. (GYSTC) as a Director for a regional branch of a science center. After 17 years, she moved to the University of West Georgia as Director at the UWG Newnan Center. She remained in the institution for a few more years until her retirement in 2016.

During her younger years, the only career options presented to females were to be a teacher, nurse, secretary, or homemaker. Although she worked at a hospital for a while, it did not spark an interest in her.

Nowadays, Cathy enjoys her days traveling, singing, and spending time with her family. She also teaches the children's choir at their church. As noted on her LinkedIn, she is still "Active in Rotary Club of Newnan [and] President of Chi Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa International honorary organization for women educators."

Besides her career, Cathy is a wonderful wife to her husband of over 50 years, Lamar Wright. She also has two sons and four grandchildren in Franklin, Tennessee. Both her kids are singers and songwriters.

Alan Jackson's Siblings, Carol J. Glover, Connie Davis, and Diane Dawson, Live Private Lives

Unlike her famous brother, Carol lives a private life and doesn't have much information about herself on social media besides the fact that she is married.

Like her sister Cathy, Connie studied at Newnan High School and had her college at the University of West Georgia. Not much is known about her other than her marriage date on June 28, 1975.

Alan has another sister, Diane, who also lives a private life. Although she has a Facebook account, her posts are limited to contacts only.

Alan Jackson now has his own family with adult children. The award-winning singer had been married to Denise Jackson for over 40 years, and remains as in love and committed to each other as ever. Alan married his high school sweetheart on December 15, 1979, and welcomed their first daughter, Mattie, in 1990.

They had two more daughters, Alexandra Jackson, born in 1993, and Dani Jackson, born in 1997. Alan has been a dream dad to his kids and even helped his eldest daughter, Mattie Jackson, after losing her first husband in a tragic accident. Four years later, Mattie tied the knot again and shared snippets of the wonderful celebration online.
