Marion Shalloe: The Life of Piers Morgan's Ex-wife before & after the Divorce
Marion Shalloe was Piers Morgan's first wife of nearly 20 years. The couple married in the early 1990s and welcomed three children into their union. Following their separation, they both found love and remained good friends.
Marion Shalloe tied the knot with Piers Morgan in 1991. It wasn't long before the former couple expanded their family, welcoming three sons, Spencer Morgan in 1993, Stanley Morgan in 1997, and Albert Morgan in 2000, whom his mom affectionately calls Bertie.
Marion Shalloe and Piers Morgan's marriage had its challenges. Their divorce was particularly tumultuous, but after it was finalized in 2008, they managed to remain on good terms for the sake of their children.
Marion Shalloe Has Been a Ward Sister for over 30 Years
In January 2023, Marion, 61 this year, shared a photo on Instagram from a lunch date she had enjoyed with her co-workers and friends. The four of them enjoyed each other's company, reminiscing how far they'd come in their profession.
"39 years ago, we started our nurse training together... A hilarious lunch reminiscing about things that can't be made public," Marion joked. Her ex-husband revered her work as a nurse, as he once said, "She helps save people's lives, and like all nurses, she'll hate me saying that."
Marion Shalloe Is Quite Affectionate with Her Boys
As her social media suggests, Marion frequently spends time with her sons and showers them with affection online. Her eldest, Spencer, celebrated his 30th birthday in July 2023. Alongside a slideshow of his childhood photos and others, she wrote:
"Look what I ordered 30 years ago. Happy 30th Birthday, darling Spencer. One of the funniest people I know. Harsh, fair, critical, but kind. All good things. Don't worry, your 30's will be amazing. Love you loads."
Marion also posted heartwarming tributes for her younger sons' birthdays. Stanley, who attended Chicago University and is a stage actor, turned 26 in June 2023. "You knew from a 7-year-old what you wanted to do, and you are 'smashing it,'" Marion wrote, wishing him a happy birthday.
Albert enjoyed his 22nd birthday in December 2022. "Happy 22nd Birthday, darling Bertie from the gang… A weird one, as you say – 'I might actually be an adult…' You'll be brilliant at it," his mom penned.
Marion Shalloe Called Piers Morgan a 'Not Bad Ex'
The year after Piers and Marion divorced, Piers described the experience as a "horrendous experience." Still, the journalist had no regrets about how things turned out between them. He respected Marion and consciously decided never to speak ill of her, especially in public.
"The day Marion and I got divorced, I said, 'You know what? We can both go away feeling awful about this, but let's never mention it again,'" he shared. He was pleased they had remained good friends because he believed it was best for their kids.
In 2016, Marion posted a snap of Piers with their sons after they'd made the front page of the Travel newspaper. "My gorgeous boys and not bad ex in The Mail today," she cheekily captioned. Six years before, the mom of three had updated her Facebook relationship status.
Marion revealed she had a new partner. As of this writing, however, it's unknown if she still has a significant other. Her ex-husband, who called out Ben Affleck (Jennifer Lopez's husband) when he said he felt trapped in his marriage with Jennifer Garner, also moved on and married Celia Walden.
