Following this meeting, Jonas was under the impression that they had reached an understanding to work towards an amicable co-parenting arrangement. In less than 24 hours, Turner changed her mind and wanted to move the children to the UK for good, demanding that Jonas should give back the kids' passports.

The British actress's solicitor in England reportedly communicated with Jonas's Florida attorney to reaffirm her intention to return to England with the children as allegedly planned, scheduled for September 20, 2023.

On September 20, 2023, Turner filed a Hague Convention Application with the Central Authority for England & Wales, requesting the children's return to England. This happened after Jonas reportedly refused to send the kids to his wife's home country and withheld their passports.

Turner alleged that they had intended for her and the children to join Jonas and his family during his band's US tour before returning to the UK, where they had planned to live and enroll their children in school.
