'She Just Melts My Heart': Pierce Brosnan's Grandkid Was Born on Anniversary of His Daughter's Death & Is a 'Beautiful' Girl

Pierce Brosnan's son Sean Brosnan is a dad to daughter Marley, who was born the same day her aunt passed away. Sean paid a heartfelt tribute to his late sister and daughter years later.

On June 28, 2023, Sean posted two pictures on his Instagram, featuring one with him and his daughter outdoors posing while she leaned on his lap. Another snapshot was a blurry black-and-white picture of him and his late sister, Charlotte Brosnan, staring into each other's eyes as they smiled.

The 40-year-old actor from Los Angeles paid a heartfelt tribute to both his daughter Marley and his beloved sibling Charlotte on his social upload, writing:

"June 28th a day of gratitude and longing. Ten years ago today, I said goodbye to you, my sister. 8 years ago today, I said hello to you my daughter. Grateful for the vicissitudes of the day. Of a life. Happy 8th birthday to my beautiful daughter Marley May. Thank you, God."

His Instagram followers commented on the post, and some expressed sympathy, while others shared heartwarming words about Charlotte's passing and Marley's birth.

"Aww, Sean, I didn't know that. That was certainly a gift from our beautiful Charlotte. Marley is gorgeous. [...] Sending you so much love and hugs!" wrote one person.

Someone else penned in part, "She's beautiful." Another commented, "Happy birthday to Marley, she's beautiful. A prayer for your wonderful sister, Charlotte." One other social media user stated, "She has grown so beautiful, always was. A potent day of remembrance, love, and celebration," alongside black hearts and praying emojis.

Pierce Gushed over His Granddaughter

In an April 2017 appearance on "LIVE with Kelly and Mark," Irish actor Pierce talked passionately about his love for his young granddaughter Marley, saying:

"She just melts my heart. It's such a joy to be a grandparent. There is just something intoxicating about it and beautiful. "There is something very special about it."

The film producer further explained that being a grandparent is all dependent on one's "timing" in life, as after raising kids and having a grandchild, one starts "looking at the clock."

Pierce, who is married to Keely Smith, has also honored his grandchild Marley and his late daughter Charlotte on social media. He posted a photo of him smiling on the porch In June 2020 and wrote, "[...] In remembrance of Charlotte and with happy birthday wishes for my darling Marley May."

The movie star's only daughter, Charlotte, died from ovarian cancer in June 2013 following a three-year battle with the disease. He announced her tragic death, saying she was surrounded by her husband, Alex Smith, and kids, Isabella and Lucas, including her brothers, Sean and Christopher Brosnan.

Charlotte passed away at age 41 from the same disease that took her mother Cassandra Harris' life in 1991. Cassandra also lost her mother to ovarian cancer as a teenager.
