Alexa Jeong Loves Gymnastics – Dad Ken Jeong Encourages Her to Be Unique as a Twin
Alexa Jeong is one of actor and comedian Ken Jeong's fraternal twin daughters. While her sister has followed in their father's entertainment footsteps, Alexa has done the same but in a different way. Her passion is something neither of her parents has pursued.
In 2015, Alexa Jeong's father, Ken Jeong, penned a touching Father's Day letter to her and her sister, Zooey Jeong. In a section dedicated to Alexa (16 as of 2023), Ken described his daughter as having the heart and soul of an artist, "always curious about life."
The actor marveled at all the areas she excelled in, mentioning her then-recent achievement, the Presidential Fitness Award. Yet, despite how much talent she had displayed, Ken felt she had only scratched the surface.

"It goes without saying you have made me and your mother soooo proud and happy. Quite simply, you're my miracle," the father of two gushed, adding that Alexa's smile lit up his life and everyone around her.
Alexa Jeong: Ken Jeong's Daughter Is a Gymnast
In 2017, Ken revealed that Alexa was a gymnast. During a chat with Ellen DeGeneres on her eponymous show that January, the comedian shared she had been placed second in her regional level in California the previous month.

Ken said he was proud of Alexa and related to her more because of her passion for the sport. Like her dad, the youngster had taken a path not traveled by either of her parents. Ken is a licensed doctor who only discovered his passion for comedy in college.
"I was a late bloomer," he remarked. He encourages Alexa and her sister to keep an open mind regarding their future careers. More than anything, however, he has motivated them to cultivate their own identities and celebrate their differences.

Ken said he never had any "preconceived notions" about Alexa or Zooey and figured they would have unique personalities. Additionally, he and his wife, Tran Jeong, never tried to steer them in any direction, as he explained:
"It's not like I'm like, 'You've gotta be a doctor and a comic,' but [rather] find your own passion and your own love, and we encourage them to be unique in their own way."

Alexa Jeong's Dabbles in Art
Another similarity between Alexa and Ken, relative to Ken's formerly bi-directional career, is Alexa's flair for the sciences and the arts. In the letter mentioned above, Ken shared that she excelled not only in math and science but also in music.
Alexa's ability to play piano and guitar led to bonding sessions with her dad, as he wrote, "Teaching you to play A-ha's 'Take on Me,' is just as gratifying as watching you learn to play Bach's 'Minuet in G.'"

Alexa, whose mom is a cancer survivor, also seems to have an aptitude for photography. Earlier in 2023, her dad shared a slideshow on Instagram of the Safari photos she took during their trip to South Africa's Sabi Sands.
She has her own Instagram account, but in 2020, Ken joked that she and Zooey were at an age where they didn't think he was "cool" and had muted him on Twitter (now known as X) and blocked him on Instagram.
Ken Jeong on His Daughters Watching His Work
Alexa and her sister, Zooey, have watched some of their father's onscreen work. However, as Ken expressed, "They watch the shows for other aspects of the shows other than me." Although he allowed them to watch some of his shows, there has been one exception: "The Hangover" movies.
Ken starred alongside Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis in the film series, and in 2019, he said the twins hadn't watched it nor will they ever. As far as they knew, it was "an audiobook." It's worth noting that given how many years have passed, this may have changed.
