Maggie Macfadyen Teaches Her Mom Beauty Rules – Meet Matthew Macfadyen's Daughter

Maggie Macfadyen is the first child born in Matthew Macfadyen's marriage to Keeley Hawes. The youngster has been raised primarily outside the spotlight, though her parents have shared a few glimpses of her life.

In October 2005, Matthew Macfadyen attended the Charity DVD Premiere of "Noddy And The Island Adventure," but the TV star was not alone. Looking casual in jeans, a black sweater with a blue shirt underneath, and brown leather shoes, he posed for photos with his baby girl.

The little one - his first child with Maggie Macfadyen - looked adorable in a similar outfit to her dad's. Maggie wore wide-legged jeans and a pink long-sleeved velvet top with matching shoes. It's her first known public appearance, after which her parents have raised her away from the limelight.

Maggie Macfadyen Uses Same Facial Products as Mom and Grandmom

In April 2023, Maggie's mother, Keeley, spoke about her role as Boots' ambassador for the brand's No7 Future Renew skincare line. She had worked as the brand's face over ten years ago.

The actress said she had a soft spot for No7, as her mom used its products. She followed in those footsteps, and now, so has her daughter. However, while her skin's health has always been a priority, Keeley confessed that it was Maggie who taught her beauty rules, and not so much the other way around.

As a working mom, she's had her hands full with Maggie and her two siblings. It's why the "Spooks" star always tries to "keep it simple" with skincare, though she admitted she liked a "serious facial."

Maggie Macfadyen: Her Parents' Love Story

Maggie's parents' love story was the source of controversy in the early 2000s. In 2002, her mother had married cartoonist Spencer McCollum, and the former couple had recently welcomed a son, Myles McCollum.

That year, Keeley had joined the main cast of the spy series "Spooks," alongside the man who would be Maggie's father, Matthew. She had only been a newlywed for eight weeks when Matthew confessed his love.

"Matthew just came straight out with it and said, 'I love you,' in the rain one day. I thought, 'Oh dear, here we go,'" Keeley recalled. She left Spencer soon after and married Matthew (previously speculated to be gay) in 2004 while pregnant with Maggie.

Her divorce from Spencer was difficult, but their friendship remained. Now, she, Matthew, and Spencer parent and support all their children together. "It was a bit bumpy at the time, but it's fine now," Matthew shared.

Maggie Macfadyen Hasn't Shown Interest in Film and TV

Although Maggie enjoys watching TV with her mom, she hasn't expressed interest in joining the industry or following in her parents' footsteps. She's also not a fan of her dad's hit drama series "Succession," where the actor starred alongside Sarah Snook, Brian Cox, and Nicholas Braun.

"My daughter [Maggie], who's 16, is like, 'Can't you be in a good show like 'The Vampire Diaries?'" Matthew shared in 2021. Still, Maggie has spent time on set. She and her siblings visited their mom for a week while she filmed the biographical series "The Durrells."
