Garth Brooks Bickers Back and Forth with Wife Trisha Yearwood for Healthy Marriage

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood share that bickering with one another has made their marriage healthier. Brooks and Yearwood both agreed that bickering doesn't always mean a marriage is toxic and can be a good thing.They've seen their good friends, Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, bickering constantly as well, and it's worked for them extensively.

Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are a dynamic duo on and off stage. After 18 years of marriage, they are still going strong and have worked towards keeping it that way.

Brooks and Yearwood look up to another couple for inspiration – Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. For the past 15 years, they've done advocacy work alongside the Carters, specifically through Habitat for Humanity.

The Country Stars and The Carters

The Carters and the country crooners have shared a special bond through the years. When the Carters celebrated their 75th anniversary back in 2021, the singers gifted them with a gorgeous red convertible from 1946, the year the Carters wed.

The former president and first lady were delighted to see their gift. They had big smiles on when they saw it and were excited about their new ride.

This October 2023, Brooks and Yearwood spent a week with the Carters in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they built 27 homes with the organization. The former president and first lady have inspired the country stars to work as humanitarians and to improve their relationship constantly. Brooks shared:

"We worked beside them for the last 15 years, and you notice right away they bicker back and forth about the right way to do things. That kind of works for us too!"

Brooks and Yearwood are Friends Above All

Brooks and Yearwood first met in the late 1980s but fell in love in the early 2000s. Being friends before dating has made it easier for the couple to sustain their relationship, as before anything, their friendship and respect for one another matter most.

To Yearwood, her lasting marriage to Brooks has been her absolute "happiness." The couple chose not to have any children together, as Brooks had a unique relationship with his daughters and his first wife, Sandy, and they didn't want to disrupt that.
