John Stamos Caught Woman He Dated in Bed with Tony Danza – He Breaks His Silence about ‘Awful’ Moment

John Stamos has opened up about his love life, recalling when a famous model he dated cheated on him with another well-known actor. However, the woman in question denied the claims.

Stamos reportedly has a memoir coming up titled "If You Would Have Told Me," wherein he claims that he once found his now ex-girlfriend, Teri Copley, in bed with actor Tony Danza.

The "General Hospital" alum recalled the incident in a recent interview, revealing that it occurred in the 1980s. At the time, he walked into Copley's guesthouse and found her asleep with the man he recognized instantly.

Once he entered the room, he was out of breath and stumbled out of it backward after laying eyes on the actress and the actor. Stamos divulged:

"But I remember running down the driveway with tears streaming down my face, and I didn't want anyone to see me. It took me a long time to get over that."

The Emmy Award nominee described the experience as "awful" "physically painful" and "worse than anything," realizing that the man he saw was Danza. Although Stamos also described Copley as "just a nice person," he stated that it was wrong of her to cheat on him.

The now-60-year-old stated that he decided to add the alleged cheating to his memoir because he wanted people to relate to the events that had occurred in his life.

The now-62-year-old model Copley has reportedly denied being unfaithful to the "Full House" star, saying they were not dating at the time:

"I wondered, 'What was John doing here?' because we had broken up. He just looked at me and shook his head and walked away."

Copley’s Romance with Danza Ended & She Divorced

Copley had been involved with Stamos and Danza during her separation from her then-husband, Christopher Mayer, whom she wed in 1982. She and the actor welcomed a daughter together in 1983.

Eventually, Copley parted ways with Danza. Their split made tabloid headlines, and when asked about the breakup during an interview during that period, the "Who's the Boss?" star refrained from discussing it because he did not want to "sound bitter," which he was.

Following their much-publicized breakup, Copley and her then-estranged spouse Mayer also divorced. The doting mother explained that although they loved each other, it was not the way a married couple should love each other.

The television star added that it would serve their daughter well if they both found happiness with other people. She expressed how much she adored their child.

Copley never remarried after her marriage with Mayer ended. However, Stamos has tied the knot twice since their involvement. He married actress and model Caitlin McHugh, in 2018.

Stamos is 23 years older than his wife, whom he has "learned a lot from." The two share a son. Meanwhile, Danza, 72, is now a grandfather and happily said in September 2019 that being a grandparent was his focus now.
