Jessica Simpson Triumphed over Weight Struggles: From Feeling 'Unrecognizable' to Shedding 100 Lbs 3 Times

Jessica Simpson is married to former NFL player Eric Johnson. The pair have three kids together, Maxwell Drew, 11, Ace Knute, 10, and Birdie Mae, 4. Simpson is a singer and lifestyle entrepreneur, but the job she loves the most is being a mom.
The singer delivered her third child on March 19, 2019, and was excited to have the new addition to her family. She had previously opened up about her woes as she carried her last child. Birdie was born healthy via C-section and weighed 10 lbs. 13 oz.

A source said Simpson loves being a mom and having a big family. The insider told People that the singer volunteered at her kids' school even when she struggled during her pregnancy. Simpson focuses on her family and having fun with her kids. She took her kids to see "Frozen" on Broadway in 2018.

In 2018, Simpson was among the celebrities who won the Outstanding Mother Award from the National Mother's Awards committee. The mom of three said that people believing she is doing an excellent job as a mother is her biggest compliment.
Aside from motherhood, Simpson's other focus is herself. The singer has come a long way to loving herself and her body. On November 1, 2021, she shared a picture of herself looking somber and said the photo was taken on November 1, 2017. She partly captioned the photo:
"This person in the early morning of Nov 1, 2017 is an unrecognizable version of myself."

Fans couldn't believe that Simpson was the one who was sitting down in the photo as she is slimmer now compared to 2017. "This is you!?" a shocked fan asked. Other fans congratulated the singer for embarking on this journey. "Congratulations and thank you for sharing," a fan commented.
When Simpson was finally able to wear a bikini, she was so emotional and proud of herself.

Simpson started working on herself in 2017 to take back her light and gain victory over her internal battle. The singer began by giving up alcohol, which she said was one of the reasons she weighed heavier. She also opened up about her weight loss journey and how she was impressed by the results.

Simpson's Triumph over Weight Struggles
After her weight loss journey, Simpson shared on The Real Daytime that she lost 100 pounds thrice. She also shared a picture of herself on Instagram where she looked very different from how she appeared in 2017. The singer had lost weight and looked slimmer. The singer wrote that she was glad she embarked on this journey:
"So proud to feel like myself again. Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder. 💚."
The singer noted that her weight loss journey took three years and required much patience. She started by setting small goals for herself to achieve her main objective. When Simpson was finally able to wear a bikini, she was so emotional and proud of herself.

She said that as much as her goal wasn't to wear a bikini, being finally able to do that after losing weight was terrific. Simpson's picture in a bikini received so many positive comments. However, after enduring body shaming for so long, she no longer focuses on the comments and opinions people have about her weight.

In a recent interview, she mentioned that people would say she is "too skinny" or "too overweight." So, the singer focuses on encouraging those on a similar journey as she was to keep going. Today, Simpson's goal is not to maintain her weight but to feel good and have a healthy mentality.

Simpson has written a memoir, "Open Book," which discusses her weight changes, body size, and how she tried to change herself. Now, the singer has embraced her entire being; she feels like herself and doesn't let negativity from people derail her.
