Jane's oldest kids are from her third marriage. The actress married David Flynn in 1981 and welcomed their son Sean and daughter Katherine Flynn. David and Jane divorced in 1992. A year later, in 1993, the actress married her fourth husband, James Keach.

Jane learned a lot from her four marriages, especially the divorces. She said the most significant lesson she got from her past relationships was perspective. She learned to let go, find a way to communicate, and keep what was good in the relationship.

Still, the actress described her divorces as painful, depressing, and anger-stirring. She always looked back at what she would have done differently and saw that because of her work, she was mostly gone. "And sometimes you may be in a relationship where they would rather that you were there 24/7 and never worked," she explained.

Jane Seymour figured that the only thing she did wrong in her marriage was work, but she lamented that she had to work because she was providing for the whole family. She hilariously pointed out that she never ended her marriages; the men she was with ended the unions because they found someone else.

Jane emphasized that it was hard to be a mother who worked as sometimes, she'd be gone for a long time. However, she insisted that she always did her best. "I took my kids all over the world whenever I was working, I had them on-set with me. And I somehow managed to juggle it," she noted.

The 72-year-old also shared about the challenges she went through with her kids. Jane recalled that before she was cast on "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman," she was "homeless" and "penniless," having come out of a marriage. She called this period her "lowest depths of despair."

Jane's ex-husband at that time had lost all her money, leaving her nine million dollars in debt, with lawsuits from every major bank. The broke actress called her agent and told him he would do anything. The agent contacted the networks, and they said they have a little movie of the week for her.

However, the catch was that Jane would have to sign for five years if the movie was turned into a series. The actress also had to start the next day, less than 12 hours from when she was informed. That's how Jane landed in "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman" and starred in it for five years, starting in 1993.
