A media outlet has reported that the matriarch of the Culkin family, Patricia Brentrup, has been dealing with problems with her health. News about Patricia's health comes after her son, Kieran Culkin, has been collecting prestigious awards at industry ceremonies, some of which he mentioned his mom in his speeches.
At this year's Emmys, Kieran thanked his mom for giving birth to him and providing him with a childhood, overtly snubbing his dad, Kit Culkin, by mentioning his lack of fathering. The "Succession" star highlighted Patricia's incredible job raising seven children, including Macaulay Culkin.

According to Patricia's husband, Mart Cox, she could not make it to Macaulay's Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony due to her health status. Mart disclosed: "Patty was invited, and they wanted to fly her out, but she's been having some hard times with her health."

Mart mentioned Kieran, who has been assisting and looking after his mom during her doctor appointments. He also clarified: "All the kids have been very helpful, oh for sure."

Kieran is not the only Culkin who has spoken out about Patricia Brentrup and his childhood, as his famous older brother, Macaulay, has previously shared some details, too. In a 2018 podcast interview with Cameron Esposito, the "Home Alone" star discussed visiting Mart and his mom in Montana with their chickens and horses.
He then spoke about his mom's roots and gave some background information about how he and his siblings came to acquire their names and their family life in New York. Macaulay also mentioned that their family could barely afford to look after one child, let alone seven. He joked about how this became what justified his parents putting him and his siblings to work in Hollywood when they were children.
Similarly, in the same year Macaulay's podcast interview was released, Kieran sat down for an interview with a popular magazine. He also discussed the Culkin kids working when they were young. In his interview, he divulged: "My parents' friends were running a little theater... and whenever a production needed a kid, they were like, 'What age and what gender? We've got seven of them right over here.'"

According to the interviews by the brothers, all the Culkin children landed up in show business at some point. Even their late older sister, Dakota Culkin, who reportedly wasn't interested in acting, was not left out.
