Sarah Ferguson Speaks about Her Shocking Second Cancer Diagnosis within a Year – Details
Sarah Ferguson has shared news about her second cancer diagnosis. After battling and beating breast cancer, she now faces a different form of the disease.
The Duchess of York has shared some tragic news concerning getting diagnosed with cancer for the second time within a year. Just hours ago, Sarah Ferguson took to her Instagram to post a picture of herself with a caption detailing her ailment.
She revealed that she is now dealing with a form of skin cancer called malignant melanoma. The recent diagnosis comes after Sarah underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery to combat her breast cancer, diagnosed last summer.
Sarah explained that her vigilant dermatologist was the one to detect her melanoma. Although the doting mom faces a challenging time, she remains steadfast and brave in her fight. A part of her message stated: "Naturally another cancer diagnosis has been a shock but I'm in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support."
Many people have been showering the 64-year-old with well wishes, hoping she will fully recover. One fan said: "Sending love and strength ❤️." Another added: "Wishing you a speedy recovery, you are a fighter and a strong woman. So brave of you to share your experience to help others."
Someone else referred to Sarah as an "inspiration" and urged her to "rest with" her "beautiful family." Another Instagrammer expressed: "Sending love and healing vibes."
Concerning her skin cancer, a rep for Sarah disclosed to a news source that she is currently in the midst of further investigating whether her condition has been caught in the early stages. The Duchess of York has been able to stay as resilient as she has partly due to the robust support and love she receives from her and Prince Andrew's daughters.
Last year, Sarah shared how Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice rallied around her when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Concerning their support, Sarah divulged: "My two wonderful daughters are my wholehearted cheerleaders, my devoted champions and my soulmates, and they have been as supportive as can be, as they always are."
The British author, who has since beat her breast cancer, also previously announced that The V Foundation for Cancer Research created a scholarly grant for studying the illness in her name. As part of the honor, Sarah will select the recipient of the grant by the end of this year.
With the recent news of her skin cancer, Sarah Ferguson is continuing to use her story to raise awareness among the public, whom she urges to be diligent when it comes to their health.
