"I miss him and I thank him every day, for all he gave to us," she wrote. "I will always love you, Robert… wait for me." Instagram followers who saw Carter's post rushed to the comments section to share their emotions.
"I just know he will be waiting. We still need our wonder woman on earth for a while [sic]," one person wrote. "I know Robert will wait for you and when the day comes and you reunited with him, it will be a great time," another addressed Carter's post.
"Sending hugs on this day to you," a third commented. "Hoping the memories bring a comfort to you, not just today, but Always [sic]."
Carter lost her husband in February 2021 due to blood cancer, known in the medical world as myelofibrosis. She and Altman, a film director and writer, were married for 37 years.

The "Wonder Woman" actress shared the devastating news of her husband's passing on Instagram, sharing a glimpse of their wonderful relationship, filled with love and respect.
Although Altman is no longer with her, she still sees him through their two children, James Altman and Jessica Carter. Through them, Altman's legacy and memory lives on.
Altman's passing left Lynda Carter at a loss. "It's totally frightening," she said at the time. "I don't know who I am without Robert." Even after some time, Carter's pain remains the same. She has turned to music, her first love, as a coping mechanism following his passing. Carter also still keeps his memory alive by posting throwback pictures on Instagram with her husband every now and then.
