Singer Cher is a mom to two sons, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman. She shares Elijah with her second ex-husband, Gregg Allman, while she had Chaz with her first ex-husband, Sonny Bono.

Unfortunately, Cher and second-born son, Elijah have a rocky relationship. In 2014, Elijah opened up about his relationship with his mother, revealing that he felt shunned by his parents growing up, especially since they sent him to boarding school when he was only seven.

During his boarding school years, Elijah would return home on weekends to spend time with his parents in New York. The musician would go to Harlem with his friends and get in all sorts of trouble. "It's actually shocking to think about myself at like 11 years old buying drugs in Harlem. It's pretty crazy. It seemed normal at the time," he recalled.

Growing up in a celebrity household also meant that Elijah got to see his parents host a lot of big parties. As such, the musician is still coming to terms with how he was raised, "I'm at an age where I'm making peace with it because you just have to. But I still...it doesn't mean it's right. It's still wrong to do that," he noted.

The same year he spilled the beans about his strained relationship with his mom, Elijah admitted that he and Cher still had unresolved issues but that they had worked through a lot of them. The musician spoke of tackling the remaining problems as an adult so that they don't negatively affect his life when he starts his own family.

"So, you don't have any choice if you want to be a balanced person but to ultimately heal. But, there's unresolved stuff, for sure," he revealed. Still, Elijah praised his mom, calling her gorgeous and talented. "I mean, she's Cher. What's not to love?" he asked.

Elijah also opened up about meeting his wife, Mariangela "Angie" King. She became the silver lining emanating from his near-fatal bout of Lyme disease, ultimately cured in Germany.
Admittedly, this ordeal was far more harrowing than his struggle with heroin addiction. Still, the best thing that came from his treatment of Lyme disease was Angie, a musician and opera singer in Germany. The two met on a blind date and fell in love. Elijah remembered, "This is how crazy life is," he said.
Angie, whose stage name is Queeny King, was born in India. She was raised in 30 countries by her large musical family and parents who encouraged her to pursue music. Angie started her career singing Christian songs before moving on to secular.
The singer is signed to Verdict Music LLC, who released her debut single on the label, "She Wants To Kill Me." She notes that this music was inspired by her desperate desire to reclaim her voice and artistry, as for a long time, she had turned into a person she couldn't recognize, which was killing her.
Angie and Elijah's relationship has been a rollercoaster. When Elijah and Angie got engaged, Cher shunned their engagement. Eventually, the two chose to elope, and got married on December 1, 2013, by the fireplace at their Beverly Hills home, which they had just purchased.
The musician explained why they didn't invite Cher to the wedding, noting that he wasn't going to wait for anyone's approval or congratulations as he'd never waited for anything his whole life. "The way I eloped with my wife is the same way I've done everything I've ever done. I don't know any other way, and we knew it was the right time," he added.

Elijah Blue Allman also described himself as the black sheep of his family because he has different value systems and mentalities than everyone else, and that causes a lot of conflict within the family. When he and Angie tied the knot, the musician and his family weren't on good terms, so he figured it wasn't the best time to invite them.

"Had we been getting on a little bit better along, maybe it would have been different," explained Elijah. However, the singer said Cher knew that he was married as much as they weren't talking to each other. The rift was so bad that in December 2013, Elijah and Angie weren't invited to Cher's Malibu house for the family Christmas celebrations.
Elijah and Angie were hurt that they didn't spend Christmas with their loved ones. "When you get married and you find the love of your life, you do kind of want to be around your family more at those sort of times of the year," bemoaned the musician.

When asked if Angie and Cher got along, Elijah answered that the two were strong women who respected each other but still had conflicts occasionally. Elijah believed that his mother might be finding it hard to let her son go to another woman.
In 2016, Angie shared a cute picture posing next to her mother-in-law, captioned, "Backstage w my mamacita." The two looked gorgeous and had posed in a similar fashion.
Fans were amazed to see how much they resembled each other. "You could pass as her real daughter," commented a fan. Another fan wrote, "You and Mamacita are both beautiful ladies and look great!" More fans loved how the pair looked, saying, "Your momom looks more like your sister! Just stunning."
Sadly, Angie and Elijah's happy union was rocked in 2021 when the musician filed for divorce. Elijah presented the documents for dissolution of marriage in Los Angeles County Court, listing irreconcilable differences as the cause.

The musician and Angie reconciled, and in January 2024, Elijah filed a request to dismiss the divorce he had initiated. At first, the request was denied by a judge in the Los Angeles County Court due to a temporary support stipulation, but it was later officially granted in February 2024.

The pair's reconciliation and dismissal of divorce comes amid legal drama with Elijah's mother. In December 2023, Cher filed for conservatorship over her son's finances. The singer sought to become a temporary conservator for Elijah, citing his severe mental health and substance abuse struggles as impairing his ability to manage his assets.

Elijah received regular funds from a trust established by his father, Gregg, and Cher feared that Elijah's challenges might lead him to misuse the money, jeopardizing his well-being and future security.

Cher noted that she was just doing her job as a mom to help and protect her child. "It's joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile, and you love them, and you try to be there for them," she added.

Cher's statements came a few months after Angie alleged that the singer had sent four men to kidnap Elijah. According to court documents filed by Angie, she and Elijah were in a hotel trying to salvage their marriage. After spending 12 days together, four men came into their room on their anniversary in November 2022 and removed Elijah from the hotel.

Angie added that one of the four men told her Cher hired them. Elijah was reportedly undergoing treatment at a medical facility starting in August 2022 before he reunited with his wife at the hotel. The singer noted that she came forward because she was worried and concerned and wasn't aware of her husband's well-being and whereabouts.

Angie later accused Cher of putting Elijah in a lockdown facility in Mexico after he was kidnapped instead of a legitimate and ethically operated rehabilitation facility. She noted that Cher's establishment, which she dubbed "pop-up, makeshift, unethical scam rehabs," excluded her from getting involved in her husband's treatment and recovery.

Elijah also responded to his mom's request to be his temporary conservator, arguing that he was well, able, and of sound mind and body. However, he didn't give further explanation or comment on whether he planned to oppose his mom's petition or not.

Elijah and his mom's conflict begins all the way from his childhood. Now, as an adult, the two don't see eye to eye due to financial issues and Elijah's struggle with substance abuse. Cher and Elijah's current clashes on conservatorship are ongoing, with both parties standing their ground.
