Priscilla Presley’s Teen Granddaughter Dyes Her Hair Black Like Her Grandma in Youth, Sparking Reactions
One of Priscilla Presley's teenage granddaughters recently dyed her hair black. The move emulates what her grandmother did when she was young and still married to Elvis Presley who reportedly had a lot of influence on Priscilla's hair change. Many people on social media have reacted positively to the teen's new hair color, saying she looks "stunning."
Harper Lockwood, the granddaughter of Hollywood star Priscilla Presley, has debuted a striking new hair color. Trading in her naturally dark brown locks, the teen dyed her hair jet black. She took to Instagram to give her followers a glimpse at the bold new color with a selfie.

Harper opting to dye her hair black echoes a time when her doting grandmother, Priscilla, rocked the same color years ago when she was younger. Although, unlike Harper, the entrepreneur did not add highlights.

Another difference is how their decisions to change hair colors came about. While it's assumed that Harper dyed her hair black of her own volition, Priscilla's choice was influenced by her late husband, legendary musician Elvis Presley.

According to a news outlet, Elvis would make "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!" star switch up her look from time to time.
On this, the head of the hair department for the film "Priscilla," Cliona Furley, divulged, "He decided everything about her, everything about her look." One request he made was that Priscilla dye her hair from brown (her natural hair color) to black when she moved to his home, Graceland.
However, after the ex-couple divorced, she returned to her natural brown hair, which was also highlighted in "Priscilla." Although she doesn't have brown hair currently, there are pictures where the businesswoman is seen rocking her natural-colored locks from a period when she began to forge a life of her own outside of her ex-husband.

"The hair helped show the passage in time and Priscilla's life journey," explained Cliona when discussing what they were trying to convey in the film. Now, Priscilla has deep red hair; a color which has become a signature look for her.

Though she and her granddaughter may no longer share the same hair color, Priscilla Presley and Harper Lockwood still share the same physical features. They look so similar that Harper was once dubbed Priscilla's twin by fans who saw a since-deleted photo of Harper and a friend on social media.

"Nona's twin 😍," one fan wrote in the photo's comment section, and another remarked, "Wow looks just like Cilla here❤️." Someone else echoed the sentiment, saying, "You look so much like your Nona in this picture 💕," spotlighting the generational reflection between Harper and her grandmother.
Priscilla's connection with her granddaughters, Harper and her twin sister Finley Lockwood, is not just limited to shared genes but is enriched with love and pride. In 2017, Priscilla expressed joy and pride when asked about being a grandmother to her granddaughters.
"It's great, it's absolutely great. I love it, I love it," she expressed about Finley and Harper. Their familial bond grew deeper in February of the same year when Priscilla revealed she had stepped in to care for the twins amid previous challenging family circumstances involving their father, Michael Lockwood.
Two years after she made the aforementioned revelations, Priscilla opened up about her beloved granddaughters again. This time, she marveled at the twins' adeptness with technology and their budding understanding of their grandfather's legacy.
Despite their young age, Harper and Finley show a respectful and endearing acknowledgment of their heritage, especially when encountering Elvis's music in public settings.
