During a recent sit-down interview with Entertainment Tonight, published on January 15, 2026, Hollywood star Ashton Kutcher and his co-stars, Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope, discussed their new series "The Beauty."

At one point during the conversation, Kutcher brought up his iconic ex-wife, Demi Moore, who revealed details about their former marriage years ago.

A Tender Tribute Buried in a Hollywood Interview

In a candid moment during the conversation, Kutcher paused to acknowledge Moore's immense success in "The Substance," her 2024 body horror drama that earned critical buzz.

"I think we're also like, I mean, one, Demi's performance in 'The Substance,' obviously she got extraordinary accolades," he remarked before adding with unmistakable pride, "I'm so proud of her. She killed it." His words, though brief, carried genuine admiration, signaling support that stood out amid a conversation otherwise centered on his own project.

That moment of praise surfaced as Kutcher and his co-stars were deep into discussing "The Beauty," a provocative new series created by Ryan Murphy, which also stars Evan Peters. The show centers on partners Drew Foster and Kara Vaughn as they investigate "the Beauty," an STD that delivers striking aesthetic effects while ultimately proving lethal.

As the investigation unfolds, the duo find themselves evading corrupt officials and a mercenary determined to stop them, all while uncovering what appears to be a far-reaching government conspiracy.

Ashton Opens Up About His Bond With Demi's Daughters

Though Kutcher's recent praise for Moore is a rare public nod, it isn't the first time he has spoken openly — and tenderly — about the family they once shared. Back in 2020, the actor appeared on "WTF with Marc Maron," where he reflected on the bond he still held with Moore's daughters from her previous marriage to Bruce Willis.

"We don't hang out," he admitted of Moore, before adding, "I make a really conscious effort to stay in touch with the girls."

Kutcher had been a part of their lives for nearly a decade, stepping into a parental role during pivotal years. "I was helping raise teenage girls through their adolescence," he said.

Despite the end of his marriage, his affection for them never wavered. "I love them, and I'm never gonna stop loving them," he shared. "And respecting them and honoring them, and rooting for them to be successful whatever they're pursuing."

Kutcher was also clear about the role he played, and the one he never intended to overstep. "I'm not their father; I was never trying to be their father. I always had respect and honored Bruce, and I think he's a brilliant human being and a wonderful man," the actor explained.

Still, he expressed gratitude for the continued connection, "If they don't want an engagement with me, I'm not gonna force it upon them, but they all do, and it's great."

The Painful End of a Hollywood Power Couple

Kutcher's reflections on his bond with Moore's daughters carried added weight when viewed against the backdrop of how their marriage came to an end. The former couple announced their separation in 2011 after six years together, marking a deeply personal and painful chapter in both their lives.

At the time, Moore released a heartfelt statement expressing the emotional gravity of her decision. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," she shared.

The actress continued, "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life [sic]."

Acknowledging the sensitivity of the moment, Moore added, "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation [sic]."

Demi's Memoir Exposes Heartbreaking Secrets

Years after their split, Moore offered a deeply personal look into the highs and heartbreaks of their marriage in her 2019 memoir, "Inside Out." In its pages, she recounted the emotional complexity of her relationship with Kutcher, from their whirlwind romance beginning in 2003 to their wedding in 2005, and ultimately, their divorce finalized in 2013.

Moore revealed how, in an effort to please her younger husband, she compromised on boundaries that would later haunt her.

"I put him first," she wrote. "So when he expressed his fantasy of bringing a third person into our bed, I didn't say no. I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be."

But the threesomes, she explained, left her reeling. "They were good people, but it was still a mistake," she admitted. "I was strangely flooded with shame, [sic] I couldn't shake the feeling that this whole thing was somehow my fault."

According to Moore, the decision to invite others into their relationship blurred lines in Kutcher's eyes, a justification he later used for his infidelity.

She recalled learning about his first alleged cheating incident via a Google Alert, while he was at Danny Masterson's bachelor party in San Diego. "Because we had brought in a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, that blurred the lines and, to some extent, justified what he's done," Moore penned.

The second time, she said, he confessed immediately. Moore had just received the Google notification on her phone about the scandal as she was celebrating a project she had directed.

Moore recounted how she had called and "asked if it was true." "He admitted it right away. And I think my response was, 'Are you f------ kidding me?' That was it. And I think I felt like I could barely take a breath," the star disclosed. Still, she had to walk the red carpet moments later, pushing through the devastation with what she described as her "own personal iron man [sic] suit."

In one of her most vulnerable admissions, Demi Moore reflected on how the end of her relationship wasn't just about Ashton Kutcher; it cracked open much older wounds.

"It was really about my whole life," she noted. "It was about being the 2-year-old who wasn't safe — that this really represented that I'm not lovable, that I'm — I'm not deserving. And that's not about him. That's all just about me."

Kutcher's recent words may have been few, but they subtly echoed a complicated history, one shaped by affection, regret, and personal growth on both sides.

From public admiration to private heartbreak, their story has unfolded over decades, leaving behind a legacy of lessons, lasting bonds, and a mutual respect that, even now, continues to surface in unexpected moments.
