No one expected this kind of full-circle moment, but when the ex-couple stepped onto the same stage to celebrate their son, it instantly became more than just a high school sports ceremony and sparked a flurry of strong opinions online.

At the 2025 FHSAA Class 1A State Championship ring ceremony, the spotlight wasn't only on the dominant Benjamin Buccaneers golf team…it was also on Charlie Woods, who stood proudly between both of his parents.

A Moment No One Saw Coming

Video footage from the event shows the ex-spouses joining their son onstage to pose for photos, with Charlie front and center and his medals hanging from his neck, while Tiger Woods stood on one side and Elin Nordegren on the other.

The moment, captured in clips shared on Instagram and YouTube, shows a poised and composed trio — smiling, adjusting their stances, and facing photographers head-on — a striking image of unity.

Charlie sported his championship gear, while his dad kept it classic in a dark suit, white t-shirt, and sneakers. Meanwhile, Elin opted for a casual but polished look in a navy hoodie and black leggings.

If there was any tension, it didn't show. Instead, what the public saw was a family celebrating a milestone together. And it was a big one. The ceremony honored one of the most dominant teams in Florida high school golf history, celebrating their victory with a special ring presentation.

Each Benjamin Buccaneer walked across the stage individually to receive their championship ring before regrouping for a team photo, fists raised, rings forward, championship swagger fully intact.

A Championship Years in the Making

Head Coach Toby Harbeck could hardly contain his pride when speaking about the team's historic performance during remarks captured at the special event.

"Everyone's different, but this one, they were so dominant, and I didn't, I'm kind of glad I didn't get to speak because I had my speech in my back pocket, but they set a record this year," he said.

"The FHSA has been keeping records for the state championship for 83 years. This score they shot this year was the second lowest in state history, which is amazing."

He continued, "They shot 11 under on the first day in the back nine, which is a state record. So this was probably the most dominant team I've ever had, but they played well all year [...] I was so proud of them [...] We're the Kings right now."

The Internet Weighs in with Strong Opinions

But while the team celebrated a historic athletic achievement, online attention quickly shifted to the family moment unfolding behind the scenes. And social media had lots of opinions.

In the comment section of a Facebook post, viewers zeroed in on Charlie's appearance and how much he's changed. One person wrote, "Charlie looks a lot different." Another added, "He definitely looks like his dad. The chin and cheeks."

There were also comments made about Tiger, with one spectator opining, "Tiger is definitely not the same." "Eldrick looking more and more like Earl," someone else stated.

Meanwhile, reactions on Instagram captured a slightly different tone. One observer commented, "What an awkward moment... all 3 acted like they can't wait to get off the stage and away from each other." Someone else added, "Tiger looking more and more like his dad."

And on a separate Facebook thread, the commentary continued. A netizen wrote, "That doesn't even look like tiger... his suit doesn't even fit him… [sic]." Focusing on Charlie, a fellow commenter shared, "Boy ...he got a lot taller," and of Tiger, another observed, "He's lost a lot of hair."

More than Just a Championship Moment

But amid the commentary dissecting appearances and body language, the bigger picture remained clear: Charlie just achieved something massive, and both of his parents were there to witness it, and that alone speaks volumes.

For longtime followers of Tiger and Elin's story, the reunion onstage felt symbolic. After a highly publicized split years ago, the former couple has clearly prioritized co-parenting, and this ceremony was a visible example of that commitment.

Charlie stood confidently between them, medals gleaming under the stage lights, representing not just athletic excellence, but growth. Growth as a player, growth as a young man, and perhaps growth as a family, too.

Because no matter what the comment sections debate, the image of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren standing side by side for their son's championship moment is one that's hard to ignore.

And while this moment had the public talking, it's only part of the bigger story, because Charlie isn't just making headlines for family moments; he's rapidly lighting up the golf world in his own right, following in his father's footsteps and sparking internet debate over whether he resembles his mom more or his dad.

Charlie Woods Continues to Steal the Spotlight

Speaking to Golfweek on December 2, 2025, Charlie's dad, Tiger, shared his excitement about guiding Charlie through college recruitment. He said:

"It's fun to be a part of the process with Charlie and go through it and see where the opportunities that he has that he has created for himself by playing better, places that he could play, wants to play and ultimately we'll decide where he wants to go play."

Charlie hasn't committed yet, but the offers are rolling in. With signing day fast approaching, he and Tiger are taking it all in stride and loving every moment.

As his golf game evolves, so does public fascination with his looks. Online, many are struck by Charlie's resemblance to his mother.

Who Does Charlie Resemble More?

Instagrammers chimed in with admiration and surprise. One wrote, "He got skills from his dad but he's a cutie and def [sic] looks like his mom!" Another insisted, "Looks nothing like him." A third simply added, "He looks like his mother."

A different commenter typed, "Like father like [sic] son," while someone else joked, "Isn't that the kid from stranger things [sic]?" Someone else bluntly remarked, "Yo. Why is Charlie that weird looking [sic]?"

On Facebook, a commenter declared, "He's got his mommas [sic] eyes!" Another shared, "Learning from the best and taking it to the next level, that's what I call dedication and hard work."

Meanwhile, a separate viewer noted, "Tiger woods broke through the barriers. Made the way. In which his son has now taking on. The breaking generational and racial curses in real time. Was one of many examples [sic]."

From junior tournaments to national qualifiers, Charlie's transformation — in skill and style — is impossible to miss. Scroll through the gallery to see how far he's come:
