Mel Gibson's son is all grown up and becomes a well-known actor
Upcoming actor Milo Gibson is 27 years old and looks like a carbon copy of his father, Mel Gibson. He is now ready to pursue an acting career.
His first role was as Lucky Ford in Hacksaw Ridge, followed by appearances in Breaking & Exiting, The Tribes of Palos Verdes and as Al Capone in Gangster Land.
As reported by People, Milo initially didn't want to follow in his father's footsteps and worked as a private massage therapist instead. He is also a qualified electrician.
Milo admits that it wasn't easy to transition into acting, and appreciates the guidance he receives from his father, who directed Hacksaw Ridge.
“It’s very scary to make that change. But one day it hit me that I don’t want to turn 50 and regret not trying something I have a passion for.”
Milo Gibson, People, November 29, 2018.
Portraying the role of Al Capone in Gangster Land was terrifying and more challenging than his previous roles, but Milo still couldn't let the opportunity pass him by.
Milo admits that it was fun to "jump into [Capone's] shoes" but added that it was a life-changing experience to portray "that kind of psychotic nobody-can-touch-you type guy."
He doesn't want to be typecast in a specific type of role and would prefer to experiment with any role he can land. That said, he loves action parts and jokes that it runs in the family.
Milo is the sixth child of Mel and ex-wife Robyn Moore. The couple has seven children together but parted ways in 2011.
Fans of Mel can look forward to his upcoming film projects. Dragged Across Concrete and The Professor & the Madman will be released later this year. Mel is currently filming Boss Level.
Fans who want to follow Milo's career can look forward to his appearances in All The Devil's Men and Hurricane. Both films are currently in post-production.
