'Grey's Anatomy' star welcomes a baby boy

On Sunday, May 13, Grey’s Anatomy star Kevin McKidd and his wife Arielle Goldrath welcomed their first child together, a beautiful baby boy.

“Welcome- little Aiden to our family and to the World!” McKidd captioned a sweet black-and-white Instagram pic that showed his wife snuggling with their newborn, who was wearing a beanie and swaddled in a baby blanket.

The actor first revealed that he and Goldrath were expecting a baby back in March. They made the surprise announcement alongside the bonus bit of good news that they had gotten married, as Pop Culture reported.

"Arielle and I are so happy to announce our marriage and new baby, who is soon to join our growing family," he wrote in a post on his website. The nuptials took place in Malibu, California, with friends, family, and, of course, McKidd’s Grey’s costars.

McKidd announced the birth with a picture of his newborn son, cradled in his mother's arms. Now there’s a Mother’s Day to remember. Baby Aiden joins big siblings Joseph, 17, and Iona, 15, whom McKidd shares with his ex-wife, Jane Parker.

When he announced their good news 2 months ago, he said that both children were happy for the couple too and they are looking forward to the arrival of their newest sibling. Congratulations to the loving family.

McKidd is best known for his work as Dr. Owen Hunt on ABC's long-running medical drama Grey's Anatomy. The actor finalized his divorce from his ex of long 17 years in December 2017.

Grey's Anatomy co-star Sarah Drew, whose exit from the show was announced in March 2018, have already visited McKidd, Goldrath, and their son. In the comments of McKidd's Instagram post, she wrote, "I can't wait to snuggle him again!!! He's so beautiful!!"

McKidd and his ex-wife have joint legal custody of their children. But at the time of the split it was agreed that rather than the teens going from home to home, they would stay put at their Malibu home. Now, it is not known if Aiden's birth will change this schedule.
