Sophia Bush's ex-husband slams actress after her recent rant about their marriage
The 36-year-old actor and former model, Chad Michael Murray, retaliated after his ex-wife said in an interview with Andy Cohen that she never really wanted to marry him.
The couple married in April 2005 while still starring in One Tree Hill, after being engaged for a year. They separated five months later, and Sophia Bush filed for an annulment.
She cited fraud as the reason, but her motion was denied. The couple divorced in December 2006 and have since gone their separate ways.
Last week, Bush was a guest on Andy Cohen's Sirius XM radio show, and said her marriage to Murray was as a result of being '22 and stupid.'
She added that marrying him was "not a thing [she] actually wanted to do" and urged women to "learn how to take up space" in the same way men feel entitled to.
When Cohen asked how she was pressurized into marrying Murray, Bush replied that she didn't want to "let everyone down."
She was also manipulated into believing that she is one responsible for getting Murray to work on time and that her 200 co-stars and fellow employees see their children at night because their "days start on time."
Murray's representative has since released a statement to People, describing Bush's comments about her marriage as "ludicrous."
His team said Murray "conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love," adding that the actor doesn't feel the need to engage in this type of behavior."
Fans of Bush can look forward to her upcoming film appearances. She had roles in Incredibles 2, Alex, Inc, and Acts of Violence.
Bush also had a recurring role as Erin Lindsay on Chicago P.D and appeared in 84 episodes from 2014 until 2017. For more news, follow us on Twitter, at AmoMama USA.
