The Grammy-award-winning gospel act expressed his happiness that his daughter has found her one true love, captioning his post with “Did I mention how proud I am of this young woman [Mariah]? Beautiful bride [and groom].”.

The proud dad also made sure to hold the traditional father-and-daughter dance during the wedding reception, holding his daughter tight in his arms.

“What an extreme privilege to dance with my daughter last night. She is now married and off to her honeymoon.”

Israel could not get enough of the celebration, posting more photos from the magical night. Unlike some parents who get anxious when their children get married, Houghton was in ease during the wedding knowing that her daughter was marrying a good man.

“Happier than I’ve ever seen her. Thanks to [Byron Rideaux] - a good young man. Cheers to the new happy couple! The world is Yours! #LaVieEnRideau”

Over the moon with joy, the father of the bride has been sharing the special night with his fans and followers. Clearly a man of God, he made sure to note how happy and proud he was that his children have gotten married in the most meaningful and worshipful setting. He is also happy that her daughter and son-in-law have chosen to honour God in all they do, just as he has been teaching his daughter since she was a child.

"So proud of [Mariah Houghton] & [Byron Rideaux] for tying the knot in such a beautiful, meaningful, worshipful and intimate setting. I love the way they honor God in all they do.”

Mariah is Israel’s first daughter with his ex-wife Meleasa. The two were married for almost 20 years, but eventually filed for divorce in 2016.
