Da Brat poses with sister Lisa Raye after Snoop Dogg threw a 90s-themed birthday bash for her
Da Brat smiles alongside Snoop Dogg and Lisa Ray after he threw a '90s themed birthday bash for her in his own mansion.
Da Brat emerged in the spotlight in the 1990s, and was criticized for having a similar rap style to Snoops' laconic stoner insouescience on her debut album. Due to this her debut was filled with laid-back Cali g-funk tunes that was well-loved by many. She became the first platinum-selling female rap artist in history, and her album "Funkdafied" would be her biggest hit album.
While many thought there would be a feud happening between the two rappers, it is quite the opposite. Da Brat and Snoop are actually close friends, and they have kept in-touch throughout the years. They are so close, that Da Brat's birthday bash this year was actually hosted and prepared for by Snoop Dog himself.
The birthday girl posted a photo donning a denim jacket, printed shirt, and a bandana, while posing with two of her friends. In the caption of her photo, she mentioned that they were at the Snoop Dogg compound, and that she was so grateful.
Snoop Dogg himself was behind the DJ table, making sure to play hits that their guests would enjoy, such as classic rap songs like "Drop It Like It's Hot". Throughout the night, the rapper shared photos and videos of what was happening at the party, and posting numerous photos of his beautiful wife.
"Boss. @bosslady_ent ladies night"
Meanwhile, friends and family of Da Brat made sure to post their own photos from the night's festivities, sharing touching birthday messages for the female rapper.
The Lady of Rage was one of the attendees, posting photos with both Da Brat and Snoop's wife, Shante Broadus.
"Me and the birthday girl @sosobrat I love you and appreciate you. I enjoyed myself last nite, and was glad to be a part of your celebration. CONGRATULATIONS on the many wonderful things that are happening for you. You deserve it! Keep doing ya thang... Much Love to one of the dopest to ever do it!"
Da Brat's sister Lisa Ray also made sure to post a photo of the two of them together with their gracious host Snoop. In the photo, the three friends smiled alongside one another while sporting their best '90s inspired outfits.
