Kim Kardashian celebrates 'main idol' grandma's birthday with sweet throwback photo

Thursday was a big day for the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Kris Jenner’s mother, Mary Jo ‘MJ’ Campbell, turned 84. Her grandchildren and daughter dedicated birthday messages to her.

Kim Kardashian West took to Instagram to celebrate the woman she called her ‘main idol.’ The post included a picture of the star as a youngster cuddling up to her grandmother.

Kim Kardashian West, 37, celebrated her grandmother, Mary Jo ‘MJ’ Campbell with a sweet birthday post. ‘Happy 84th Birthday to my main idol, my grandma MJ!’ the star captioned her post.

She shared a little about Campbell’s character saying she was the strongest person she knew. West recalled seeing her grandmother take the role of the provider for her family and run her own clothing store.

West honored her grandmother by saying she had always given her the best advice. Kris Jenner, West’s mother, and Campbell’s daughter, also took the time to share her thoughts on her mother’s birthday.

‘She’s probably the only person on this planet that I still remember their home number by heart lol My grandma has a finsta so everyone leave nice comments wishing her a happy birthday!’

She wrote on Instagram that she felt blessed and grateful that they got to share so many precious memories together. The Kardashian-Jenner clan matriarch honored her mother by declaring her to be her life and heart.

She shared her love for her mother and ended of her post by thanking Campbell for loving her the way she did. Jenner’s other daughter, Khloé Kardashian, 34, blogged about a memory from childhood that she never forgot.

She remembered how on weekends they would drive halfway to San Diego to meet and bond with her grandmother at a diner. There they would all have fun and eat a fattening lunch together.

The family would spend the whole weekend bonding and she shared that those memories would last forever. Khloé also revealed that she was excited that her daughter, True Thompson, would have Campbell in her life too.

The Kardashian and Jenner sisters all have a close relationship with their grandmother, but West shares a special bond with her. Last year, the star shared a video of them joking about something they unexpectedly have in common.

They connected on their experiences with short-lived marriages. The clip posted on West’s website and app in December, showed the star reflecting on her 72-day marriage to ex-husband Kris Humphries.

Campbell shared her experience of marrying right out of high school when she was only 18. That marriage only lasted for two months and the two could relate to that experience.

West and Khloé's Instagram Stories, revealed that all the family enjoyed lunch with the birthday girl. As a gift, Campbell received gluten-free tequila and white roses.
