'Mission Impossible' star Tom Cruise seems to have a peculiar doppelgänger, according to the web
Throughout his career, Tom Cruise has featured many stuntmen and body doubles in his films, but his doppelgänger is a rather unlikely celebrity in her own right.
The resemblance was first noted on Twitter when photographs of the two were shared next to each other. Most users agree: once you see the resemblance, it cannot be unseen.
His doppelgänger is none other than 60-year-old comedian and British radio producer, Sandi Toksvig.

Toksvig, who recently began filming Bake Off, told the Daily Star that she is regularly mistaken for Cruise, and joked that's probably more complimentary for her than him. She added:
“It is so funny. It must be our flowing locks that get us mistaken. It’s very flattering for me, but probably not for Tom.”
Writer and graphic artist Richard Littler shared a photo of Cruise late last year and wrote in the caption:
"Tom Cruise is slowly turning into Sandi Toksvig."
In another tweet, Littler said he would have preferred to see Toksvig in some of Cruise's biggest hits, including "Top Gun" and "Mission Impossible."
The resemblance is so uncanny that one Twitter user, Valery Carpentier, asked: "Have we ever seen both of them in the same room?"
Scottish Conservative leader, Ruth Davidson, also joined the online conversation and said his "face [...] is beginning to look like a late-90s ear Sandi Toksvig."
Cruise was married to actress Katie Holmes, his third wife, from 2006 until 2012 and they share daughter Suri. However, Holmes has sole custody, and Cruise hasn't seen his daughter in years.
Suri celebrated her 12th birthday in April, and her proud mother shared an adorable photo on social media. Read more about it here.
Fans of Cruise can look forward to his upcoming film projects. He is currently filming "Top Gun: Maverick," which will be released next year.
