Gregg Leakes, 64, is successfully recovering from a 5-hour surgery for the treatment of his cancer, and NeNe hopes that it’d be his last and that he’d finally be cancer-free.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star went public about her husband’s health diagnosis last June after fans were wondering why he was in the hospital for more than two weeks. She finally became more open about the whole ordeal when Gregg was finally recovering at home, even sharing about their simple trips and vacations to make the most out of their time together.

While she has been giving updates about her husband, the family has made sure to keep the type of cancer he was battling and the exact procedure he underwent a secret. Prior to the surgery, NeNe asked fans to keep Gregg in their thoughts and prayers, even calling them “prayer warriors”.

“My hunni is having what we hope and pray is his last surgery towards a full recovery today! It will be a long surgery so we are asking you to pray for the surgeon’s hands, pray for Gregg’s comfort please! Prayers, strength, peace and kindness for myself, his children and family during this time! Amen (come on pray warriors).”

After the surgery, NeNe showed Gregg being wheeled into his recovery room where his close family and friends were waiting. Relieved and thankful, she said: “The hard part is over, now it’s time to heal.”.

When they were back home, the reality TV star shared with her fans that Gregg was doing “really, really well” and that they requested for a bit of privacy this week for him to “reset and get himself together”. This meant that other than their immediate family, they would not be accepting guests into their home for now as it might hinder his recovery.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Leakes family, and that Gregg will finally be announced cancer-free.
