Carmelo and La La Anthony reunite at an event, flashing sweet smiles in recent photo

Carmelo Anthony and his wife, La La, were spotted looking cozy in a picture from a recent event. The photo fuels speculations on whether the basketball star and TV personality, who separated last year, are back together.

Carmelo’s Houston Rockets teammate, Chris Paul, held the inaugural “Celebrity Server Dinner” event on Sunday, October 28.

The Chris Paul Family Foundation initiative saw the NBA All-Star and 11 of his friends, including Carmelo, donning crisp white uniforms to serve diners at an upscale steakhouse in Houston.

The dinner was a fundraiser to benefit two local charities and was attended by sports dignitaries and celebrities, including Carmelo’s estranged wife, La La.

In one out of a series of photos shared by Paul’s wife, Jada, Carmelo placed his hands lovingly on La La’s shoulders. Beside them was Jada and her husband in a similar pose, and all four smiled at the camera.

CONFLICTING REPORTS

For a while now, La La and Carmelo, who split in April 2017 after the NBA player allegedly cheated, have had fans wondering about the status of their relationship.

Back in June, the “Think Like A Man” actress confirmed to Us Weekly that she had no plans to reconcile with her husband. She explained that her only focus was on their 11-year-old son, Kiyan:

“No. I’m just really, just open to focusing on … my son and what he’s doing. That’s where I put my energy and my focus right now. With all of my workload and my son’s schedule, I really don’t have time for anything else.”

She added that the love they have for their son helps them succeed at co-parenting. “When your love for your kid is at the center of everything, you can’t go wrong. So we’re focusing on showering him with love,” La La shared.

ARE THEY BACK TOGETHER?

Meanwhile, the “Power” star and her athlete hubby have been spotted together more often in recent times, fueling reconciliation rumors.

A few days ago, Carmelo showed up at La La’s Halloween party, Page Six reports. The NBA star dressed up as Michael Myers from “Halloween” and made time to pose for pictures with La La.

Also, in September, La La was at the New York Fashion Week to support Carmelo’s exhibition for his clothes and accessories line, “Made.”

THE STATUS QUO

Most notably, while on a philanthropic visit to South Africa with his family in August, Carmelo referred to La La as his “wife,” suggesting that the two are back together.

It’s still not sure what is going on with the couple, but last month, La La hinted at them working things out, saying:

“We’re good. I mean, we’ve been together for a really long time so we’re figuring out how to make it work for what is best for [our 11-year-old son] Kiyan and what is best for us.”
