Dwyane Wade, the NBA player who has been married to actress Gabrielle Union since 2014, took to Instagram to share the name of their newborn daughter in the best possible way.

In the post, the man appeared sitting on a chair with no shirt on. The camera was focused on his shoulders, where two freshly-made tattoos became the highlight of the post.

There were two words: Kaavia James. In the caption, Dwyane revealed that it was a Throwback Thursday (TBT) about the night in China when he decided to get his daughter’s name tattooed on him.

As soon as the NBA player uploaded that picture, his followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts. Most of them thanked him for sharing such an important aspect of the family's life with them. Others admitted that their romance was beautiful while adding the hashtag “black love.”

Dwyane and Gabrielle welcomed their first daughter together via surrogate on November 7. In an Instagram post, the actress revealed that the date “will forever be etched in our hearts” as the “loveliest” of all the lovely days.

FACING MOTHERHOOD

Ever since baby Kaavia was born, Gabrielle has shared several pics showing her daughter and herself as a mother. One of the funniest ones portrayed her wearing pink pants and a black sweater while holding the baby. As the caption, she wrote, “So perhaps I haven’t showered or brushed my teeth or sleep, but I’m in heaven.”

TALKING ABOUT THE NAME

While the birth of the baby was a big milestone in the couple’s life, several people have wondered why they chose “James” as her middle name. Some said that it was because of NBA player LeBron James, but Gabrielle took to Instagram to tell the truth.

“Great question. We wanted my family represented in her name. My godfather is my Uncle James Glass. She is named after him.. and then Union… that’s… ya know… me [sic],” revealed the actress.

THEIR STRUGGLES AT HAVING CHILDREN

Even though Wade and Union have been married for four years already, Kaavia is the couple’s first child together. The 46-year-old actress confessed that she has a condition called adenomyosis (the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus.)

Given the fact that she has had that health problem since she was 20, Union has endured a couple of miscarriages, and she has not gotten pregnant even after trying through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

Despite this, Gabrielle is the step-mother to Dwyane's three sons named Zaire, Zion, and Xavier. Instead of dwelling on the fact that she cannot give birth to her own child, she has welcomed the three teenagers with open arms and treated them like her own. Now that Kaavia has joined the family, things are expected to get even better.
