Serena Williams does not hesitate to share with the world just how much she adores her one-year-old daughter, Olympia Ohanian. Now, however, the tennis champion is opening up on what she doesn’t love about the “mom” life.

Williams recently sat to an interview with GQ, and among some of the things she discussed was her life as a mom to Olympia. One look at the athlete’s social media and you’ll be more than convinced that the bond between the mother and daughter is a tight one.

But just as there are pros to the job, Williams reveals that there are cons as well, and they make her sad. Williams, who does everything together with her daughter and confirmed that she’s been with Olympia every day of her life so far, said:

“The only thing I don't love about being a mom is, come 7:30, Olympia's in bed and I get sad. I'm like, 'Should I go to bed?' Because then if I wake up, I get to see her again."

How sweet! The only thing this global champion does not like about being a mom is having to be away from her baby girl.

Any fan of Williams would have seen this coming. Despite her busy schedule as an athlete and businesswoman, she always makes time to hang out with Olympia and be the ultimate hands-on mom.

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE

And it’s not just about the “baby” effect either. Olympia turned one in September, and even though Williams and her husband, Tech tycoon, Alexis Ohanian did not celebrate for religious reasons, the Wimbledon mom is already planning fun things with her mini-me when she gets older. She told GQ in the same interview:

“I'm keeping a lot of her clothes. And then, when she gets a little older, we're going to go over to the foster care and give them away."

MOMMY, DAUGHTER, & THE SEA

Only a couple of days ago, little Olympia got to celebrate a “first” with her famous mother. Donning a colorful swimsuit and holding on to Williams’ hand, the little tot dipped her feet into the ocean. An adorable picture from the milestone event made it to social media with the caption:

“Mama helped me put my toes in the ocean for the first time!”

FAMILY MILESTONE

The Williams-Ohanian clan experienced another “first” on November 16 when the tennis star and her husband celebrated one year of being married.

Ohanian marked the special occasion with a never-before-seen photo from their beauty-and-the-beast-themed wedding and paid tribute to the woman he calls his “queen.”

“365 days later. And still dancing. Only now Jr joins in. Happy anniversary, my queen. Here's to many, many more.”

With parents who love each other so strongly and love her just as much, the world is literally at Olympia’s feet. Lucky girl!
