Christian Combs breaks silence on his mom Kim Porter’s death with heartbreaking post
Ten days after the sudden death of his mother, Christian Combs finally returned to social media with a short but heartbreaking message.
The death of Kim Porter came as a shock to the entire world but was even more devastating for her family, especially her four children. Christian, the younger of Kim’s two sons, has finally spoken about his mother’s death. Alongside a photo of the late actress/model, the 20-year-old wrote:
“I miss you Mommy.”
CONDOLENCES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Social media users filled the comments section with condolences and messages of support for the young adult who was so close to his mother that he still refers to her affectionately as “mommy.”
“Hold on tight man! I really feel your pain,” said one person, while another consoled:
"What we have once enjoyed deeply we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." May your Momma Bear forever be so engrained in your heart, all that is felt and remembered is Love and never the loss. Many prayers of Strength and Encouragement to you and yours.”
TRIBUTES FOR "MOMMY"
Kim’s other son from a previous relationship, Quincy Brown, 27, had earlier shared a tribute to his "mommy." The budding actor, who Diddy raised as his own, implied that the untimely death of their mother was senseless:
“The only thing that makes sense right now is that you were way too good for this silly world we live in. I love you so much MOMMY. Please give Mee-Maw the biggest hug and kiss for me.”
A BEFITTING GOODBYE
Kim, who died on November 15 at the age of 47, was laid to rest this past weekend in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. A memorial service was held in her honor at the Cascade Hills Church, after which she was buried in a gold casket at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens cemetery alongside her grandmother and mother.
Over 1000 people attended the ceremony, including celebrities like Nene Leakes, Kandi Burruss, Lil Kim, Toya Wright, Mary J. Blige, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Stevie J.
Faith Evans delivered a tear-jerking rendition of “His Eye is On The Sparrow” and Blige broke down in tears while eulogizing the late Kim.
EULOGY FROM DIDDY
Earlier reports claimed that Diddy, who dated Kim on and off for 13 years, was too distraught to deliver a eulogy, but the Hip-Hop mogul whipped up the strength to honor the woman he previously described as more than a soulmate.
“I just went through a dark, dark time, and she would come over and make sure [he was okay]. Even though we wasn’t together, she was just that type of person. It’s hard to love somebody when you ain’t with them, some days you don’t have to be there. She was just like, ‘Come on, Puff, you gotta get up.'”
Until her death, Kim acted as a mother to Diddy’s six children. Apart from Kim’s children -- Quincy, Christian, and twin girls, Jessie and D’Lila -- Diddy also has a son Justin with ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton-Brim, and a daughter Chance, with Sarah Chapman.
