Naughty 'Golden Girl' Betty White chose to celebrate her 97th birthday with a poker night

The award-winning mayor of Hollywood and television’s First Lady outshines 96 as she became a year older on Thursday. The young-at-heart Betty White decided to celebrate her new age splendidly as she treated her age-long friends to a game of poker which she hosted herself on her birthday night.

The actress and comedian who has been dubbed “queen of game shows” is a poker connoisseur and was said to have organized the poker party with friends who had played with her for decades.

Actor, Ryan Reynolds while celebrating Betty, took to his Instagram page and jokingly captioned a photo of himself and Betty: “I don’t usually wish ex-girlfriends Happy Birthday. But Betty’s special. Happy Birthday to the one and only, @bettymwhite.”

The lively nonagenarian is in a healthy state as she was spotted greeting her fans with a waiting smile as she went about her business on Wednesday.

The former child star was born in 1922 and has had a fantastic period in the entertainment world with a career that has spanned 80 years; she has received eight Emmy Awards in various categories, three American Comedy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and a Grammy Award.

She also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of fame, is a Television Hall of Fame inductee and a Disney Legend.

Besides her five-star career, White is also entirely into humanitarian services which she mostly dedicated to animals.

Being a pet enthusiast and an animal health advocate, the veteran actress works with animal organizations including the Los Angeles zoo commission and African wildlife foundation.

In 2011, a poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos revealed that Betty was considered the most popular and most trusted celebrity among Americans.Last year, while in an interview, the multi-talented veteran revealed the secrets to living a long life.
