Kelly Ripa looks uber chic in an elegant $1,500 blue dress that accentuates her age-defying face
The 48-year-old TV star once again caught every eye in the room with her youthful appearance and impeccable style as she attended the Town & Country Jewelry Awards in Manhattan.
The “Live! With Kelly and Ryan” host made a stylish entrance to The Standard Hotel on January 24 with an impossible to ignore flute-sleeved long blue velvet dress by The Vampire’s Wife.
Ripa got her blonde hair styled in a wavy flaxen bob done by hairstylist Ryan Trygsad, who is behind many star’s red carpet looks, including the likes of Julianne Moore and Courtney Cox.
The mother-of-three was invited to present the Jewelry Champion of the Year award on this year’s edition of the event, with designer Lizzie Tisch receiving the honor.
OLD WOUNDS STILL HURT
Some old wounds are apparently still left to heal for Ripa and her former co-host Michael Strahan, who left ABC’s “Live! With Kelly” in 2016 in an unexpected and shocking move to join “Good Morning America.”
On January 24, during an interview with Time, the former New York Giants star, talked about the much-publicized ending of his friendship with Ripa following his sudden departure from the show the two used to host together.
Strahan revealed that the harm done to their friendship because of his leaving the show earlier than planned without letting Ripa know about it hasn’t been overcome, as the two have been out of touch ever since.
“I learned through all that went down with that, you can’t convince people to like you. I haven’t spoken to her in a long time,” the 47-year-old shared.
Ripa was very disappointed with the lack of communication Strahan and the network showed with her, and she reacted by skipping work for four days.
Strahan had promised Ripa that “Live! With Kelly” was his “number one priority,” but he left when she least expected it.
After her return, Ripa defended her right to be upset in a talk with People, when she said: "I think that all people are deserving of fair treatment in the workplace. People deserve respect."
LOVE, THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH
For the last 22 years of her life, Ripa has enjoyed an exciting life journey with her husband, 47-year-old actor Mark Consuelos, with whom she shares sons Michael and Joaquin and daughter Lola.
A marriage of two decades hasn’t made them any less passionate about each other, as they frequently flaunt in social media, constantly complimenting each other and flirting in public.
Definitely, the beautiful relationship the two have built through the decades is keeping the two lovebirds young, as a recent “10 Year Challenge” post by Ripa proves.
Never leaving his side, Ripa responded to the popular online challenge together with Consuelos, and it is just like time has not affected any of the two at all. Actually, the two arguably look better now than ever.
SHARING THE SCREEN WITH HER HUSBAND
The chemistry between husband and wife is so strong that the “Riverdale” producers couldn’t resist featuring Ripa as an on-screen romantic interest of her husband’s character “Hiram Lodge.”
Ripa is going to guest star as Lodge’s mistress Ms. Mulwray during the current third season of the drama, following her and Mark’s son Michael’s appearance on the show as a younger version of his father’s character.
Although the most logical thing to think about this is that Mark might have had pulled some strings for this to happen, he recently told US Weekly that he actually didn’t have much to do with it.
“Roberto’s awesome, man. No one knows this world better than him. He just made it happen. I definitely did not ask for him to do that. I think he thought it would be so much fun,” Mark said in reference to the show’s creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
