Kobe Bryant Spends Quality Time with Middle Daughter Gigi Who Has Her Dad's Smile in New Photos
Kobe Bryant and his middle daughter, Gigi, made a trip to Connecticut to attend an exceptional game from the Connecticut Huskies women's basketball team. Gigi is a big fan of the team and had an incredible time, as she matched her dad’s smile in pics shared by Bryant on social media.
Kobe Bryant is an NBA superstar, but he’s also the proud father of three —soon-to-be four —beautiful girls.
He recently took his 12-year-old, Gigi, for a father-daughter trip to Connecticut, where they attended the Senior night game at Gampel Pavilion and watched UConn defeat Houston 83-61. The same night, seniors Katie Lou Samuelson and Napheesa Collier were being honored, and Rebecca Lobo’s number was being retired.
Bryant and Gigi were a big distraction throughout the entire game, but the adorable duo was not bothered by the attention. Instead, they flashed twin smiles to the camera as they snapped a selfie, posed with Lobo on the basketball court, and later met the team backstage, as shown on a series of pics shared by Kobe on Instagram.
The future Hall of Famer captioned the post:
“Had a great trip to @uconnwbb for senior night and the retirement of basketball legend @promise50 with my baby Gigi. Thank you Gampel, Thank you Coach Geno and Cd for the warm welcome. Good luck the rest of the way #mambamentality #wizenard.”
UConn coach, Geno Auriemma, was more than happy to welcome Kobe and Gigi at the game.
“Kobe was a little bit of a distraction," he confessed to the Courant. And continued:
“We were hoping he would just send his daughter and he would stay home so he wouldn’t cause that distraction, but we couldn’t arrange that. He’s gotten to know these guys through a lot of different things, and he was looking forward to coming up here and bringing his daughter for a daddy-daughter kind of trip with just the two of them. That’s why we didn’t make such a big deal about it, but obviously, it was a big deal in a lot of ways.”
Gigi, unlike his older sister Natalia, inherited her father’s passion for basketball. At 12, the girl is already showing incredible skills on the court, and she has learned from the best.
Just like her dad, Gigi has impressive outside shooting skills, and quick hands during defense, which makes it easy for her to guard her opponents. Her keen instinct on offense and grit on defense are incredibly similar to that of her dad's back in the NBA, and taking from Kobe, it seems both of them know that hustle is an integral part of the game.
It's clear that Gigi has a mamba mentality, and according to Bryant, the girl is “hellbent” on playing basketball for the Connecticut Huskies, even though she’s already getting offers from UCLA and she’s not even close to finishing high school.
Kobe is currently enjoying sweet time with his grown daughters, as he waits for the arrival of his fourth baby girl.
The 40-year-old announced last January that his wife Vanessa is expecting another girl, who will join Natalia, 16, Gianna, 12, and Bianka, 1.
The former L.A Laker revealed on an interview with Extra last year that some of his teammates used to tease him about not having a son, telling him that “It takes a real man to make a boy,” but he fired back saying “Dude, it takes a king to make a princess… get in line.”
