Kristoff St. John's Ex-Wife Blasts Critics Who Blame Her for Not Going to Him on 'That Fateful Day'
Mia St. John fires back after receiving "nasty messages" following her revelation that she received a drunken call from Kristoff St. John hours before he died. "My family has suffered enough," she said.
It’s been close to a month since Kristoff St. John’s ex-wife, Mia St. John revealed details of her conversation with him hours before he took his life. Now the former boxer is forced to respond to critics who blamed her for not doing more to prevent his death.
Mia took to Twitter on March 5 and blasted her accusers for judging her reaction to Kristoff’s call the day he died. Last month, she disclosed to Entertainment Tonight that the actor called her hours before he was discovered dead in his home.
She recalled a drunk Kristoff speaking nonsense to her at around 11 am. She said he sounded depressed and spoke to her about seeing their late son Julian and wanting to go for a walk with him.
“No, you aren’t going for a walk right now,“ Mia remembered telling him after he told her their son who took his own life in 2014 was at the door.
That was the last time Mia spoke to Kristoff before news broke of his death. She did receive a final text message from him advising her to “live in the present” and “observe all the good things” in her life. He added,
“Julian would not want you to live your life with bitterness and upset, it eats away with you and drains your life slowly but surely. You must rise to the occasion and accept the beauty around you. I believe in you”
Mia concluded after his death that Kristoff died of a broken heart due to the pain of losing their son. She revealed he suffered from bipolar issues while their son had schizophrenia. She found comfort in knowing Kristoff and Julian are together now.
While that was a revelation that helped fans of the star to find closure, many apparently found fault in Mia after learning she was aware of Kristoff’s state before his death. In her tweet, she revealed receiving “nasty messages” from people who wondered why she didn’t go to Kristoffer after his call that “fateful day.” She explained,
“Realize, I was 2 hours away! I called his best friend who lived nearby. Don’t judge people if you don’t know the facts. My family has suffered enough.”
It’s evident in Mia’s tone that she’s furious at being blamed for Kristoff’s death. To be unfairly judged is the last thing she needs right now. Kristoff was finally laid to rest on Monday, more than a month after he was discovered lifeless. He was placed next to Julian as he would have wanted to. All Mia asks is to be allowed to move on from her ex-husband’s death which also brought back painful memories of her son’s own demise.
