Beth Chapman Admits That an Insensitive Attitude of a Family Member Can Make ‘Things Worse’
The tension between "Dog the Bounty Hunter" star Beth Chapman and her stepdaughter Lyssa Chapman is really killing her, as the reality star admitted it’s just making her battle against Stage II throat cancer "worse."
"Some family members just are awful. Someone in my family claims that it is just drama when you are so sick in [the] hospital from treatments & almost die is far from drama. [Beth] you are in my prayers. Stay strong."
In response to this, Beth tweeted:
“Yes I agree there is very insensitive talk that goes on amongst family members that’s not appropriate for the person going through it. It actually makes things worse."
The star's response comes after Lyssa, 31, took to Instagram to share a photo that mixed the words “Thank You” and “F**k You” together. She captioned the post:
“Thanks for your opinion."
"She decides to exclude her dad and I from [Lyssa’s daughter Abbie Mae Chapman, 17] graduation…. I would have moved a mountain to be there.”
It's uncertain whether the message was directed to her family or the many of fans weighing in on her very-public conflict.
On May 23, Beth, who has decided not to pursue chemotherapy as a means for fighting her illness, initially let the public know that her relationship with Lyssa has fallen apart. She even claimed that Lyssa didn’t call her on Mother’s Day.
“I’m very disappointed today,” she tweeted. “[K]nowing that not only did my daughter [Lyssa] not acknowledge me on Mother’s Day yet texted some of my friends wishing them an HMD."
Beth added, "She decides to exclude her dad and I from [Lyssa’s daughter Abbie Mae Chapman, 17] graduation…. I would have moved a mountain to be there.”
Lyssa is Duane “Dog” Chapman's daughter with his third wife, Lyssa Rae Brittain, who was married to Dog from 1982 to 1991.
