Gabourey Sidibe Shows off Slimmer Waist and Legs in T-Shirt & Tight Shorts
Gabourey Sidibe took to Instagram to show off how far her weight loss journey has progressed by posting a picture of her new and improved figure.
On June 4, Sidibe shared a full-length photo of herself on her Instagram page. In the picture, the actress is dressed casually wearing a white tee, skin-tight shorts, and a pair of white sports shoes designed with gold accents.
The actress has had a full history when it comes to her weight loss journey making it no wonder that she prides in showing off her progress.
The shot has the “Tower Heist” star striking a bold pose with one leg forward and her right arm planted on her waist. The posture puts her now slimmer waist on display, especially with the tight shorts doing little to hide her full figure.
Since she posted the picture some three days ago, it has garnered well over 50k likes and has fans taking to the comments section to laud the charming entertainer. Sidibe humorously captioned the shot:
“I got coconut oil on my knees, and my phone case but you gotta make sacrifices to not be ashy in these streets,”
Sidibe is one very admirable woman who has made sure to counter all beliefs that actresses can only have a frail figure to be beautiful and accepted in the film industry.
The 36-year-old won herself a massive fan after making her debut playing the titular role of Precious in the 2009 award-winning film, “Precious.” While Sidibe has come to love her body and build her self esteem over the years, she revealed that she had to undergo bariatric surgery in 2016 to counter the many damaging effects of being overweight.
According to a news outlet, “Daily Express,” it was reported that alongside the life-changing surgery, the “Empire” actress started introduced a weekly meal trick as well as an exercise routine to help her lose weight.
Now, there is an apparent difference between Sidibe’s old and new photos, a visible result of her dedication to bettering her health. Sidibe never shies away from discussing her weight loss journey and went to great lengths to detail it in her 2017 book, “This Is Just My Face: Try Not To Stare.”
Explaining her reasons for getting the variation surgery, she wrote
“It has taken me years to realize that what I was born with is all beautiful. I did not get this surgery to be beautiful. I did it so I can walk around comfortably in heels. I want to do a cartwheel. I want not to be in pain every time I walk up a flight of stairs.”
Till date, Gabourey Sidibe is one of the very few full-figured beauties who are making waves in the film industry. She remains bold, humorous, and just charming as she exudes confidence in being full-figured.
