Sarah Ferguson Shares Half-Brother’s Wedding Photo and Says Late Dad Would Be ‘so Proud’
It was a great weekend for Major Ronald’s daughter and the royal family as the Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, wished her father a Happy Father’s Day and also congratulated her stepbrother on his marriage.
Andrew Ferguson had tied the knot with Florence Hill of Lincolnshire in a yet to be identified location on Saturday. This news got Sarah very excited as she posted it on her Instagram while also wishing her late dad a Happy Father's Day.
Alongside a few old photos of her dad, the British Writer, Film Producer and Television personality posted a picture of Andrew Ferguson and Sarah Hills adding a beautiful caption under the image.
“Miss you Dads .. Happy Father’s Day .. you would be so proud of your son Andrew who got married yesterday to Florence Hill. You helped me so much my Dads #fathersday#happyfatherday#family”
The couple’s engagement was first announced in August by Daily Mail. Andrew Ferguson, who is the manager of the Dummer Farm in Hampshire, is Sarah’s half-brother and one of three children; himself, Alice and Eliza from Major Ronald Ferguson’s second wife, Susan Deptford.
Sarah’s father Major Ronald Ferguson had married Susan Deptford in 1975, a year after he divorced his first wife Susan Barrantes with whom he had two daughters Sarah and Jane. The royal wedding came as a surprise because it was not publicised like other royal weddings, and only a few people knew about the location of the wedding.
Despite it being unexpected by the public, the new couple is a sight to behold as they walked hand in hand down the aisle with beautiful smiles on their faces in the unknown location.Happy and unable to contain her joy, Sarah went on to reveal that she is elated that her half-brother is getting married to a “redhead!”
"My father would be very proud of Andrew and Florence. I am so happy for them both. To have a fellow redhead in the family is a joy, too!"
Those were not the only things that made the Charity Patron’s week, though. Earlier that week on Thursday, Sarah Ferguson herself was all over the news, but for the right reasons. The 59-year old Duchess had wowed and stunned everyone in a black gown that had golden embroideries and sheer fitted sleeves on the red carpet of the 2019 Butterfly Ball.
She looked absolutely majestic standing there in superfluous glory. In what has been a tremendously happy week for Sarah, fans of the royal family across the world would be hoping for more love news as Sarah and her former husband Prince Andrew have been seen together a lot of late.
Who knows if there might be another Royal wedding in the works.
