The actress is a proud mother of two children, a son and a daughter, whom she keeps always from the spotlight.

The TV star who got married in 2004 to Syd Butler, the bass guitarist for the 8G band — they play on the show, “Live with Seth Meyers” — shares her children, Lyla and Nigel Butler with the guitarist.

Amy delivered the girl in 2006, and three years after, the boy followed. The actress is very fond of the two, and in an Instagram post for Mother’s Day, she shared a video of her children smoldering her with kisses.

Although only part of Lyla and Nigel's faces showed, it was clear that they took after their mother’s beauty, but not her blonde hair and the actress called them her “Two favorite people.”

Aside from her children, the Illinois native enjoys her career, which is the more public part of her life. Amy’s acting days dates back to her years as an undergraduate at Knox College in Illinois, after which she joined the Improv Olympic and the Chicago branch of the Actors Center to fine-tune her skills.

The mum-of-two after joining Hollywood, focused more on television, and one of her most notable roles is playing “Josie Watts” on NBC’s ’93 daytime soap opera, “Another World;" the part got her a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

In the course of the “Third Watch” star's career, she has gotten lead and guest roles in several TV series and in 2011, she starred alongside Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in the superhero movie, “Green Lantern.”

Amy, until recently starred as “Linda Reagan” in the CBS procedural show “Blue Bloods.” The TV star left after seven seasons, and her character got killed off in season eight.

In an exciting twist, the “Hits” actress in April hinted on a possible return after the season nine episode “Common Enemies.” In it, Amy’s onscreen husband, “Danny Reagan” found closure on her death, but the actress teased her fans that her character might still be alive.

The teaser led to a debate on social media with some campaigning for the “Law and Order: Trial by Jury” star to return, and others listing the best scenarios for it.

Neither CBS nor “Blue Blood” showrunners denied nor confirmed the hint, and in the meantime, Amy is enjoying her time with her children.
