However, she surprised the Twitterverse when she decided to speak out against President Donald Trump when he attacked her late father, Senator John McCain on social media.

“By the way. He wrote a book and the book bombed.”

The McCain sisters wouldn’t have it and decided to speak up against Trump for his disrespectful remarks towards their father, who passed away due to cancer last year. He was 81.

MCCAIN SISTER’S RESPOND TO TRUMP’S CRUDE REMARKS

Firing back to the crude remarks, Meghan tweeted:

"The president’s obsession with my father 6 months after his death is pathetic and telling - even at a time when he should be focusing on his message to the American public and the state of our union - the greatness of my father’s life and legacy haunts you."

She tweeted:

“@realDonaldTrump Everyone doesn’t have to agree with my dad or like him, but I do ask you to be decent and respectful. If you can’t do those two things, be mindful. We only said goodbye to him almost 7 months ago. (1/2).”

HOW BRIDGET WAS ADOPTED BY THE MCCAIN FAMILY

Bridget was adopted from a Bangladeshi orphanage run by Mother Teresa by Cindy McCain, the wife of John McCain.

Speaking to New Yorker about how she couldn’t help but adopt the adorable little girl who was sick at the time she met her, Cindy said:

“She was sick and tiny, and she was only ten weeks old. And I got to know her a little bit, and I was with her for quite a while.”

Initially, Cindy only brought Bridget and another sick girl from the orphanage to the US for medical treatment.

Later, she and John decided to adopt her and the other girl was adopted by their close friends.
