DWTS Stars Congratulate Bindi Irwin on Her Engagement and 21st Birthday
Bindi Irwin’s DWTS family congratulated her for having the best birthday surprise after her long-time boyfriend, Chandler Powell, popped the big question.
After months of speculation and fans hoping for an engagement announcement, Steve Irwin’s eldest daughter, Bindi, is engaged to her boyfriend of six years. Chandler Powell proposed to the 21-year-old on her birthday last Tuesday.
A STEP CLOSER TO FOREVER
Irwin shared the good news on her Instagram account, which included two photos of the newly engaged couple and a penned letter to her fiancee. She wrote:
“Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forward to spending our forever together as your wife.”
FROM THE DWTS FAMILY
The post’s comment section has since been flooded with congratulatory comments from Irwin’s “Dancing With the Stars” friends from season 21 in 2015 -- the season she competed.
“Congratulations to you both (he’s a lucky guy!)” wrote the show’s host, Tom Bergeron.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
Fellow animal lover Instagram accounts also congratulated Irwin for her engagement, including Australia Zoo, which is owned by the Irwin family. Powell previously professed his unconditional love for Irwin during an interview with Lauren Zima.
He shared how much happiness his fiancee has given him, and how honorable it is to “work for Steve’s legacy” together with his daughter, whom he referred to as the “most beautiful girl in the world.”
Powell left his career as a professional wakeboarder in Florida to be with Irwin and her family and work in their conservation. He shared that conserving the wildlife and educating others about it became his passion turned full-time job.
